welp up thread ( dec 24) i said that i was going to have a re-Jenga / Tetris  at the loft, part one was this morning, i have managed to get stuff better packed 
in doing so i have had a quick reminder of some things.
1:35 bailey bridge  for the operation Carousel, break out of west Berlin / cold war diorama  check 
2 48th scale Chinooks  check     
the 4 Tamiya ships  check
all the stuff for the 1:24 scale Grav Cars  yup 
the TSR2s in both scales.... then i get to the Pile of 48th Warriors   i know i got 10 when they 1st came out for wargames reasons, and have picked up one or 2 since,  so  i seem to have 16       i know one is for converting to the Rapier version but the others ?   im certain ill find a use for them though.
still i can see more and have better access to them as well so its all win as far as i recon.

It's nice to remind yourself what you have, and to get re-enthused about older projects. 

Sometimes the newer stuff overshadows the older and you forget.

i will start with a retraction / correction,   it appears that i have 14 Warriors,        having done a bit more moving / sorting / boxing in the loft,

I have finished the hanger building so its now ( im counting it as a model as its approx a foot square, rather bigger that just a small bit of scenery)
4 figures 4 pieces of scenery and 3 models

in doing so the left over MDF has given some nice linear bits that i can make 11" of wall and  two 3" wall sections that will be suitably gate like,  and there are some bits that will make some nice bases and things as well, so have gone in the bits MDF bag.
track work continues on the Chally, slow and steady and not un-enjoyable.      ive also brought done some resin tanks and industrial bits, for the nex builds / paints jobs.

been able to get some paint on the chally,  its that much smaller than 1:35  some parts are paint as sub assembly's, and i know the rear of a chally once you get the extra range fuel drums on it is nigh on impossible to get a brush into at the larger scale, so im not risking this one.

Ive put in an order with King kit, mainly JSDF:L stuff, tanks and an infantry pack, plus a Marder MICV to replace the one that got changed to the franken TAM  where possible not first owner stuff as well so its cheaper ( yay) giving more kit for my budget.  that will probably post monday so hopefully will arrive end of the week.

with the Aldersly wargames / model show this weekend, i am considering what to take...
I will probably be taking my normal confuse the unimaginative set,  the franken TAM, and the 2 re engined business jet, the a10- engined Lear and the 4 engine Falcon,   and the rest may well be wargames stuff,  with the Empress miniatures Chieftains, FV432 and landy / wombat combo  along with some infantry,  plus possibly some other resin wargames vehicles and possibly some of the slum scum to go with them.

ive a few distractions i can throw out to distract them, not quite as good as using a starfix spitfire to throw off a JMN     but enough,  the odd question regarding scale creep,or of using old names for paints is usually enough

wile the Chally continues onward,  ( a few parts each day on the weekend)  ivw been doing that Favourite of wargamers, Scfi modelers and cheapskates   bit bashing,  a scrap bit of MDF as a base a small food tub and a spraycan lid for a pair of tanks, some sprue for pipes and scraps  to break up the smoothness of the plastic, and some more scatter terrain for my industrial area, i can throw some primer at it tomorrow

yesterday was one of the local wargames tabletops, and once again i left with less stuff than i arrived with       Mrs SP made several sales from her leathercraft stall as well, so we had a good morning, and managed on repacking when home to shrink down the box load to put back in the loft.
im still painting fuel / chemical tanks and bit of other scatter scenery..

another large bulk tank done, the scrap built scenery and 3 more tube piles done,  ive also given one of the resin lander`s i picked up (mutter) years ago a quick respray over the top with ford diamond white, ill need to hand brush the undersides black, then get a good bark grey dry brush on, to give it a scorched re-entry look.
got gloss blue on the challys optics, and some black on the rubber anti bump strips on the gin deck,

Depending on exactly how old it is you realise the resin used back then is probaby illegal nowadays ?

meh     no matter,  i think its less than 20 years old     ive  one by the same company that i got somewhere between 95 and the early 2000`s  and that fine, its not sweating monomer or anything else "fun" that some of the cheaper stuff can do.  and for a hollow bodied piece of scenery thats around 6" in Dia they are  good to work with 

Im also getting some paint on 3 Ground Zero Games hover vehicles a small  recon / range truck, and 2 hover apcs  ( links for 15mm not 25)

for simaeler to the 2 apcs,   they are 4 and 1/2" long and 2 and 1/2" wide  ok for 25mm but rather small for the larger GW 28mm ( heroic) stuff   I have a chunk of other stuff by the same firm so they will fit in with that,  they are again resin but with the history of GZG im not worried regarding quality.

off today, as Mrs SP had an emergency dental apt,  as wed managed to get 08:30 , and were ( as normal) early  we were back home by just after 09:30,  i am therefore doing some repair work on the send hand Mongral 80s Brits i got 2nd hand, a few repaints on sections that had been chipped, and then ill be modding the bases a bit to make them fit,  ive fabed a light fitting for the chally one of the 2 got carpet monster-ed, so a rough copy has been done with a piece of suitable dia sprue  rough filed to give th convex back then cut to a close depth and attached, paint to follow.

im slowly working on th 72nd hawk i got in the box of bits from the avon shop last year, cant find the rear horizontal controls, so ive used a pair of ( i think) phantom ones, they are a wee bit big but not jarringly so, the screen over the pit is tough as one wasnt in the box,  there was a more single piece teardrop shaped one so that is getting used, with no control panel or chair its going to be a gloss black  screen
