Quote from: The Rat on November 21, 2025, 05:44:45 PMHas anyone ever whiffed a Harrier fuselage with a straight-through engine?

Yes, used parts from a Kangnam/Revell Yak-38 (internal) engine to create a tail nozzle, and did a LOT of other things to the model including inverted gull wings from a Saab J29 with pods for bigger wheels (became a wide.stance tricycle layouit instead of the tandem plus outriggers, due to the jet pipe in the hull), but it never was finished and fell apart... The concept, however, lingers in the back of my mind as a de-VTOLized Harrier with a conventional landing gear.

Don't recall seeing this here, so I presume he isn't a member. A lovely Royal Navy Javelin by Stephen Pattison. I have reached out...

Oh, that's nice. The front leg could propably be beefier for carrier operations, but the whole things looks very nice and plausible.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

And righteous!  ;D   He says he used the wing fold set for a Buccaneer.

I've started one, but I'm still working on it some years later.

Generally not a fan of the Javelin but that paint job really works.

I SO wish I could see it................... :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
