Dogs are so much more predicable!

In other news. Today I have spent some more money on tools, this purchase will though mean a possible reorganisation of my model room, or part of my flat to accommodate my purchase.

Sounds interesting... and big.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Rat

Quote from: Gondor on October 03, 2025, 11:17:58 AMSpot is a typical cat. He will do certain things in a certain order for a while, then change his mind and do something different just when you have gotten used to him doing what he has been doing previously.
The places he sleeps during the day have recently changed. He used to be happy to sleep on my computer chair, not it has to be my lap, even though I am sitting in the computer chair.
So typical cat, changes with the wind and possibly the solar flux or something.

As the "Tall Food Provider" and chief cleaner of litter boxes, that is very true.  Although with cats, you don't have to be outside in a torrential downpour/gale/blizzard/hurricane at 5 in the morning because Cerberus needs to take twenty minutes to do his business.

Exactly why I went with cats rather than dogs. Less maintenance.

I have just had a nice little win on eBay. I was following a Freightdog P.1154, which, although it didn't have a buy it now option, did have a make an offer option. So I made an offer, which, a couple of days later, was declined. Out of spite, as I thought the offer was reasonable, I put in a bid slightly higher than the starting value. I won at the start value  ;D They should have taken the offer, as it was several pounds higher than they are getting at the initial bid value, as no one else put in a bid.

Nice to see Karma in action.

I had a half-day at work today. The reason was the impending arrival of a couple of boxes.

So now my computer desk is in an upheaval to make space for the thing, which is huge!

I am now waiting on one of my nephews to pick up an older computer monitor so that the space it is taking up in the living room will become free for these two

The white container is the Wash, while the Yellow one is the Curing chamber. The BIG Black box, I am going to call it "The Obelisk", is a 16K resin printer.

Ok, so that's a top-end printer, but in my defence, I had the money, so why take a baby step and the expense of buying another printer later that is roughly the same as what I have just bought and then trying to sell a used, more basic printer?

I can't do much more than put parts together and connect the printer to the wi-fi, as the only thing I can think of to improve the printer is a network socket. The resin and other liquids are to arrive separately. I may add a USB extension cable to the USB port to save messing around with a USB stick near the back of the machine.

Now the difficult part. To learn Fusion 360  :-\

Should be, not sure about the 3D design software learning yet.

Let us know how the software learning curve goes. I would like to be able to design a part and get a guy in my club to print it. I pretty sure I won't have the demand to warrant my own printer.

Said club guy could set up a side hustle for doing that sort of commission work... depending on his skill set, he could even have another side hustle of designing said parts - or teaching folk to design their own. Just a couple of stray thoughts.

Gondor

I plan to start with easy parts. Pylons for the Supermarine Swift first, the Air Dart missiles which are mainly a tube with wings. After those two things we shall have to see where things go.
