I still use a simple dumb phone;  I  can call and text which is quite enough for me.  It cost me £9.95  eleven years ago, with £5 worth of call time included.  I don't think it owes me very much!

I wonder if cell phones are damaging to mental health. Being called or texted any time and any place over basic trivial crap. Once in a while it's something actually important but otherwise it could wait. Sometimes I really don't like having one.

I know exactly what you mean. I often think they are the worst invention of the 20th century, mainly because you can't leave work as "they" can get in touch with you, people have forgotten how to make decisions "I'll call the boss" and youngsters in particular are scared that they will miss something that is being said about them.

But once Pandora's Box has been opened  :-\

Here most of us go again!

My sister, who was a department head in a big secondary school, has told me about a couple of occasions when  a phone was " impounded" to be returned  at the end of the school day leading  to such a severe melt down by the erstwhile user that the local doctor had to be called

If they're THAT addicted to their phone (of all things....) they NEED a doctor!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

There was a TV news show about kids addicted to video games. When one kid had his games taken away he threw the biggest fit I've ever seen. Cursed his mother up one side and down the other.

Ya know this addiction to cellphones has become such a problem that there's a now alot of towns putting up signs warning of em .
The signs are brilliant...they say ...please beware of cellphone zombies 🤣
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've got a 4G smartphone...still has many do dackies I don't use but it's got a bloody good camera and in my area you need a fast phone with good signals strength...and it was on special  ;D
