... and converted to a drone because, being relatively large and slow, survival in a modern combat airspace would be very difficult and trained aircrew are expensive.

Good shout, a drone would be a much better idea.

The crew could take evasive action by running around inside that MASSIVE fuselage. A bit like a slim-line P-47 in fact.

It's bigger than it looks. It's a skinny but wiry bugger, it could lift a lot more than you'd think and had a weapons bay. It was more or less a little Gannet.

Exactly what it was, and oddly answering a spec for both the FAA and Coastal Command with virtually the same airframe.

The Coastal version didn't have a hook but it kept the folding wings, somewhat oddly.  And it had bigger wheels/tyres and more stores stations too, so the kit could offer scope for Whiffery right out of the box.

IIRC, the Contrail one gave serials for both Navy and RAF prototypes.

Looks like this initial boxing will be the RN version only so maybe a 2nd boxing for RAF

I've always considered the Seamew as a bit of a folly, I cannot imagine it surviving Service life.

Conversely, it shouts 'coastguard', and I can see it doing what DA62s and B350s currently do in HM Coastguard service.
