At short of ideas for a new project, Looking around for inspiration the my eyes are fallen on a Monogram F-4C/d laying partially built in a box by almost a year or more time.
Given that there was no chances of to complete it as a regular model as it did not give me any temptation, the idea has finally come: A SINGLE SEAT and SINGLE ENGINED PHANTOM.

This is a preliminary draw of the project:

First work done: cut away the keel on the tail.

Nice, I could see this as a kind of budget export version of the Phantom, for poorer nations who couldn't afford the 'full' version.

Should be interesting.  Sort of like a Super Demon F3H.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Look here: http://www.f-4.nl/f4_17.html

However, the my Single Phantom is intended to be the missing link between the old F-3H Demon ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F3H_Demon )and the real F-4 Phantom.

Work done today: this morning removed a portion from the tail cone and the empennage to shorten the Phantom:

After this I taken the saw and completely dismantled  the Phantom:

Someone out of the whatif world could consider this a disaster.

At the end of this day something of positive has been done.

Reassembled the shortened tail:

The completed tail look too much similar at the F-102's tail: maybe will do some changes.

And the front part of the fuselage has been glued newly, added a plastic wall in the front, this will be shaped at the purpose of to apply the F-4E's nosecone.

The Single Seat-Single Engine Phantom is taking shape:

Now must do the air intakes, cover the second canopy, and a lot more.

Nice, any plans for the elevators?

Think that will use the originals pieces, but prpbably I will shorten them a little, not sure.

This is the work done yesterday:
second cockpit fairing, modified air intakes, some works on the tal zone, IR fairing under the nose.

[wussy Darth Vadar]NNOOOOOoooooooooo!!!!!![/wussy Darth Vadar]

IR Probe + Phantom-ish nose = ugly!!!   ;D

Just my opinion.  Sleek nosed Rhinos are prettier.

What?  A Rhino can be pretty!

But it's your vision, your model, build it how you want!  I'm sure I'll enjoy the final product.  Liking it so far ('cept, of course, the zit under the radome   )

Can't wait to see it completed and painted!
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!
