[wussy Darth Vadar]NNOOOOOoooooooooo!!!!!![/wussy Darth Vadar]

IR Probe + Phantom-ish nose = ugly!!!   ;D
But it's your vision, your model, build it how you want!  I'm sure I'll enjoy the final product.  Liking it so far ('cept, of course, the zit under the radome   )

Can't wait to see it completed and painted!

There is a pair of reasons for the IR Fairing under the nose.

A: now it look undoubtly as a Phantom

B: I had completely loose the control of the nose's shape:
If you watch the my preliminary drawing in the my first message the Mini Phantom had a F-4C/J radome a bit reduced in size and lenght.

As usual, in the progress of the work, I loose the target and the nose is come out as completely different from what I have in mind.
To save the shape I have added the IR fairing so it look like a Phantom.

In the last 20 days I abandoned a little the Single Engined Phantom to build the Phantom Sci-Fi.
But this past week reprise the work.

Used a lot of Mr. Surfacer 500 (very rough) to cover all the surface's defects and then rescribed the fuselage sides.

Two days ago given finally the first layer of true paint, as in the Phan-Viggen used the Fs-36622 by Humbrol.

I'm fallen in love with this paint!

Today applied a little bunch of 5 millimeters tape on the upper surfaces.

After this applied the second layer of paint, this time used Humbrol 121, Israeli sand FS-33531.

Wow, that is so cool. It's a Phantom Scooter or is it a Scooter Phantom?

Not so Scooter... look this image:

Although I have cutted a pair of portions of fuselage from the original Phantom the resulting model is long near a regular F-4C.

This afternoon do not painted the Phantom Single as I have planned.
However, to save the day, applied another set of masking tape over the light sand hand of yesterday.

Tomorrow I will apply another layer of paint over the Light Sand and so on.

Yesterday painted the F-4 Single with the last basic color (Israeli Light Green) and today done the last session of masking to obtain the "rain effect" camo.

At this point the "rain effect" camo will be composed from the little strips of Light Grey 36622, Israeli Light Sand and Israeli Light Green.

After this last masking session it's time for the last overall camo, the last camo scheme is vaguely inspired at the camo weared by the Navy-Marines Phantom F-4S in Ferris Scheme
