We already have the 1 week GB, but looking at all the current entries, it made me think that quite a few of them had been completed in very little time (Nils made a nice looking Fury in about 48 hours).
Perhaps we could do a 24 or 48 hour GB someday during the Christmas?
The interesting thing with this GB, is that it wouldnt be won by super detailed JHM builds, but by something more or less OOB.
For the start and end dates, id suggest we set a week in which we can build our 24 h build. There can only go 24 hours from first post in your build thread to it can be completed though.

Whaddya think?

You sir, are a madman. I'd be down for this. Superglue and spraycans are your friend

I'd certainly be up for a 24hr GB.

I did these two in one day.  It's fun to set yourself such a tight time limit and see what you can do.

I propose that we do this GB from December 23rd until December 31st. That should give us all 24 hours in which we dont need to go to school or work.

But where's the fun in that??  It's another One Week Build!  I think if a 24GB is done it should be on one, single day so that we all get the fun and excitement of watching what will amount to a 'live build'.  Sure, it's going to be harder to coordinate a good date for a decent sized group, but I would bet the Christmas week would be just as tough for many people between family, travel, etc.

Anyway, that's just my 2c worth.

I think he just meant somewhere within that time frame. I think we should have a few weeks to pick the day and time we start. Being close to the west coast in the US means that a lot of reasonable start times in england would not be pleasant here. so I think we use the honor system, and a person can start when they want, but the clock starts after they start.
This would be a heck of a challenge, and i would love to do it.

 :blink:That my friend is insane. i can't even complete a kit in 1 month, let alone in 1 day.  :banghead:

On the other hand, I do have a 1/144 Mirage hidden away somewhere. Build that in flight and maybe, just maybe I could do it. Christmas time would be a good time, although busy with friends and family. So the honor system of setting your own day looks very intresting.

24 hour builds are always fun.  Especially if you start with the right kit.  Those of you with access to those HobbyBoss kits have an advantage.

Many years ago one of the clubs I belonged to did several 90 minute builds (yes, you read it right).  Kits were supplied, no super glue but there were spray cans.  I even won one of these with the Revell 1/32 Cobra helicopter (yes, all except the canopy was sprayed OD) and also did a large scale motorcycle for another.  Kits were always different for different people and not easy kits (as you can tell from above).  True, they were not the greatest scale replicas of the real thing but they sure were fun.

To be honest a weekend build would be more suitable, most modellers here dont have the time or ability to model for a straight 24hrs (there are a few exceptions !!), life has a habit of getting in the way of most prolonged modelling sessions together with the health and safety risk of pushing it to be within deadline when overly tired.
The deadline itself prompts people to rush and accidents can happen, compounded by being overly tired.

You're always a voice of reason, Mr Baker. I agree, a weekend GB seems to be a much better option.

Wimps...

Ditto. I therefore propose a Revell snaptite 1 hour GB instead. That or a 48 hour GB...

Tamiya paint?  Check
Tamiya cement?  Check

Idea:  hmmmmmm......gotta think for a while there.

24 H.might do if it starts on a Friday evening.    Also being a PacNW person, that puts us down to a 16 hour build or so if times are based off GMT.    (Aren't the challenges of a global common community neat?   ;D)

I might be in.   It's a neat idea anyways.

This would be a challange.  Then again, it might be a good excuse to try one of the new Hobby Boss easy kits.  A couple parts and a paint job....

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
