OK sorry but I have a medical appointment on the Friday morning and thats put the lid on it (Chloresterol Checks etc) , so I will have to wait till next year. Apart from that I will see you all at Perth without fail and Glasgow next year.

I'm pretty sure it's members only....but it makes sense to open the actual sales to anyone....selling is tha game isn't it?
Hey though, Geoff, there's almost certainly stacks for you to buy anyway! A trip to Wonderland Models will no doubt elicit enough bargains for a year!
Getting close now, babies....only got around 9 models to finish (two not even started yet!....and one is ANOTHER VTOL F-104, this time for the USAF SIG)

QuoteIt appears I am not to be allowed into the kitswap as I am a member of IPMS Canada and I have been told of a discussion where it was decided only IPMS UK members are to be allowed in.

Plus sa change?
Geoff there are always ways around anything the bureaucrats can come up with  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thorvic

Yeap its UK members only for both selling and buying which makes it a bit of a farce !.

Hardley seems worth the effort as limiting the market to half the people in attendance. Couple that with the location in Hall 3 and then telling the public they cant make use of it nor can our overseas IPMS members, thats going to do the image of IPMS(UK) a world of good  :banghead: .

Oh well we'll see next weekend how things go  :(

QuoteI seem to remember from when we had the kitswap at Donnington (going back a lot of years now!) that Joe Public was let in late on.  Party members had first pick and then the proles got to have a dig through the crumbs.
That seems like a sensible approach - as long as the international members are included in that first group.

The whole kit swap thing has raised a number of tempers both fore and against. after being told by one idiot to "feck off and mind your own buisness!" when i told him the boxes under our stand at last years show were for transporting the models on display not stuff for sale, I decided in  favour of the kit swap...but i think the whole thing has been badly mishandled by the powers that be. As for the ban on non ipms (UK) members...thats just plain stupid.

Just got word that I'm officially a IPMS/UK member today so I can get in on the kit swap!  Good thing, I don't have a lot of quid to spend!

Martin H

not with the current exchange rate

we should have a good show this year. more table space than we normaly know what to do with, and plenty of new faces attending. im sure group mug shots will be carried out on both days. (consider that fair warning, any one who wishes not to par take)

hmm, looking at the kit swap part of the latest IPMS [UK] magazine it makes NO mention
that i can see that the kit swap is for IPMS members only. an error surely?

and i've decided that what i don't sell shall go to the junior modellers at the midland air museum.

I posted a request for clarification on the IPMS forum. It came back loud and clear.

IPMS MEMBERS ONLY

The reaction of the punters is going to be interesting to watch.
the powers that be are touting it as a perk of membership..fair enought but I still say the whole thing has been VERY badly handled.

Im sure the JMC at MAM will be very gratefull for any donation Trev.
