If he's based in Dumfries, how come they let him keep the US reggie?

Now the answer to that I do not realy know, but there are quite a number of British based light aircraft that still have their US registrations, particularly the Cirrus SR-20/22 range.

Our friend Dave might be able to give a more complete answer as he is still part of the demonic patriarch organisation !

Jim

PS I have found out that he (the pilot/owner) is a farmer who is based nearer to Newton Stewart.

If they keep the reg' current in the USA, I don't think they have to change it because it's in the UK, do they ?

On leave, I've managed a lot of spotting over the last two days.  The good weather has brought out a lot of the GA bunch including a Robinson R22, but I've also seen:
BAe Jetstream
Sikorsky S92
Sikorsky S76
Airbus A340
Aerospatiale Squirrel (very close, low down)
Boeing Sentry AEW
McDD F-15 pair

All in all a good couple of days!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Just seen from my girlfriends  street,  flying from  Blackpool airport,  a saab Viggen and  a smaller  aircraft  which  I  couldn't  recognize  it was a small 1950's looking  bird,  possibly  F-86, mig-15 or maybe  even a  saab Tunnan. It sounded  nice  whatever it was.

Sounds like the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight, they a Viggen, I think the ONLY flying Viggen, and a Tunnan similarly.

I  did think after seeing the  viggen it could  have been a  tunnan, but I   couldn't get a  proper look at it  as it was flying around.  I am quite  chuffed to have  seen them though. Cheers for the  clarification Kit

Most probably the same pair that came here to Prestwick in 2015
The Viggen did not fly in the display that year but the Tunnan did, Gorgeos!!

Oh that our Air Force would do a similar thing.

Imagine an RAF Display Team flying a Meteor, Vampire, Javelin, Hunter, Lightning, Phantom, Harrier, and Tornado.

Not to mention a Canberra, Victor AND a Vulcan.

I can dream I suppose..............

That would  be an amazing thing  to see and hear, as much as I like  seeing the ww2 aircraft  flying,  I  would love to  see more cold war birds in the air.

Swedish Air Force Historic Flight is only "semi-official":

"Swedish Air Force Historic Flight (abbreviated in Swedish as SwAFHF ) is an association that flies former Swedish Air Force aircraft and maintains them in an airworthy condition.[1] SwAFHF has been active since 1998 and is housed in premises of the Skaraborg Air Force Wing (F 7).[2] SwAFHF is authorized by the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration and the aircraft have civilian Swedish aircraft registration."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Air_Force_Historic_Flight

"the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight (SwAFHF), which while partially funded by sponsorships, donations, membership fees and air show proceeds, also receives support and cooperation from the Swedish Air Force, operating as the Flygvapnet’s defacto historical wing,
...
The SwAFHF is composed of volunteer pilots and technicians, and the fleet is divided into two main branches, the military jets and the civilian jets. The division is mainly due to operations as well as funding.
