This leads to the philosophical question......When do we  become older citizens?  I don't feel old yet......in fact I feel reasonably young and active (63)......but then this bleary eyed old man stares out of the bathroom mirror at me every morning.

Same age as me  ;D

I understand that in official Govt stats middle age now extends to 65.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oh No! In just over two months I will be old.  :banghead:

Lunchtime today, regret that I got a good view of the local air ambulance helicopter G-HWAA

Where I work in London we regularly see a little red helicopter buzz overhead in random directions, always heading back east to the hospital in Whitechapel. Last week it landed in Trafalgar Square.

I've also seen it land in Jubilee Gardens, on Horse Guards Parade and on the lawn outside the MoD building. They can get into what look like quite tight spaces!

Nice little vid. NOTARs are cool. Always sad to see them tho, but then again, good as it could be the difference in somebodies life !

Haven't reported what I've seen at YYC lately because it's mostly repeats of what I've mentioned before but have seen quite a few Voyagers and C-17s coming and going.  WestJet's new 767 comes and goes everyday now (last couple of weeks) and got to see up close WestJet's new Disney scheme, the one with the "Frozen" characters all over it.  Goes really well with the "Mickey Mouse" one (this one comes and goes twice a day from YYC).

Today though was quite interesting, ten Greyhound bus loads of Brit troops went home, that's about 500 soldiers. They went home in one of the Voyagers and an A330 operated by BH Air, I was about a 100 feet away from where the troops were getting on board them.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Captain Canada

Cool stuff Robert ! I'd love to see the Voyageur. And all of those troops ! Must have been a lot of excitement heading home !

KC-135 just flew over. Of course I ran into the house to get the camera but lost it in the heat haze ( I know, it's November but it's warm out there ! ) Now I wished I would have just looked up and enjoyed the sight and sound.....love that shape !

Delivering Meals on Wheels today, I saw a pair of Cobra gunships flying more or less eastwards towards Dover AFB.  Low (overcast with a fairly low ceiling), and very noisy!!  I would guess that they are going to be shipped either to the Rock Pile or the Sand Box . . .

No camera, of course. . .

Captain Canada

Now that would have been sweet....love the Cobra, been forever since I've seen one !

Red Arrows went right over my garden on the weekend. I thought the Chinese Ambassador had popped out for a smoke on his balcony....turned out it was for something Rugby.

BH Air A330 was back today for another load of troops, this time a bunch of women plus a huge load of cargo.
Then a CargoLux 747 pulled up right where i was stationed just feet away

Update on my last post;

about an hour after I made the last post, five more Greyhound buses pulled up and disgorged another 250 troops. So by my calculation, over the last three days that the Voyager and charter aircraft came and went, about a 1000 troops returned home this week.

They wanted to get home in time for the fireworks.....  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Walking up the road to pick up my daughter from school (app. 15.30 hrs)I found I had a large excess of gas to get rid of. Trying desperately to let loose in small divisions, the Red Arrows suddenly flew over again masking what could have been some seriously embarrassing decibels ;D. Must write and thank them.

Must have been another cigarette break.
