A world war II cargo plane... I think. It was high and against low clouds but I heard two radial engines. A lovely sound indeed.

A friends wife is working up in Goose Bay, so I asked for a couple of pics to see how the old girls are doing up there. Wish we would have drove there when we were working in Labrador ! Some day....

Any time I'm working near Midway Airport in Chicago the National Guard Blackhawks are buzzing around. Today I saw a Chinook too.

Coast Guard HH-65 from CGAS AC orbited over the house before heading south-west. I swear, sometimes I need a PRC-113 just to hear what's flitting around ACY

The RAF Voyager came back to town again Friday, after seeing quite a few A330's land, it stands out because of the wing refueling pods hanging down. You can spot it from quite far out from the airport.

And a treat today --- two CF-188's (Canadian F-18) blasted off right past where I was stationed, didn't have time to get a good photo of them.

Yesterday for Father's day we had the family get together it our house. While sitting around outside, talking and enjoying the beautiful day, a formation of L-39 Albatrosses flew over headed due west. Must of been ten of 'em. Of course no camera and too many trees in the way. My Air Force Reserve buddy and I both jumped up to get a better look while the rest of the family wondered what the commotion was. Oshkosh airshow is going on but they should have been headed north not west. Just the long way around I guess. Unless they were being vectored around O'Hare IAP and Chicago airspace.

Just a few miles from Midway today. Right under the approach path. Southwest airlines 737s all morning long plus small biz jets of every description. Cell phone camera just doesn't work out for pics.
