I wonder what the RAF were doing way out West???

They were headed East but hired Mrs z as navigator?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Not a great photo of the C-17, still trying to get a hang of using Mrs kitnut' cellphone (I haven't had a reason to own one for the last 15 years but the new job requires we have one).  For some reason I can't get it to zoom in, all I do is take another pic.

The 767 I mentioned in the previous post pulled right up to the 'Tee' mark you can see next to the gate (I did have to move my position a bit further away though)

If it's an Android, tap the screen.  That'll bring up the zoom scrollbar

Motorola, apparently you're supposed to place two fingers (thumb & finger) slightly apart and just touching the surface of the screen, then make as if you squeeze you fingers together to get it to zoom in (or the other way around to zoom out). Problem is I'm a bit clumsy with it and all I end up doing is taking a multitude of pics that are no good.

Same things happening when I'm trying to go to another page or something, you're supposed to just swipe the screen  --- I just end up at pages I just don't want to go to --- bit frustrating  --- can't see why you just can't have an icon to touch  --- too easy I suppose ---  :banghead:

The RAF C-17 was back again today, it arrived yesterday evening and I just got a peek at it as it zoom down the runway to take-off.  I was told that when it came on Thursday it off-loaded a small helicopter, no idea what it was though.

That Albatross is certainly a nice spot ! Great find amongst all of those 'boring' types !

Spotted two small helicopters today which took off together and flew roughly in the direction of the south east, bit too far away to identify them accurately but one looked like a Gazelle but the other has me a bit perplexed, does the British Army fly Lynx which has wheels ?

An H-53 of some description flew directly overhead my model railway club yesterday.

IIRC the USAF have a few of them in the UK for Combat Rescue, but I'm not sure where they're based, so quite what one was doing over Gloucester I have no idea.

They're surely BIG and LOUD! I could hear the thing coming long before I could see it, and it had a much faster rotor 'THRUM' than the distinctive 'WHUP WHUP' of a Wokka.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Odd, because all the Pave Lows and Super Jollies were retired in 08.  Unless it was a Navy/Marine Stallion

The Lynx looks funny with wheels, like a bush plane

And those big H-53s are really cool to see. Defo sound different than you'd think ! Lovely.

Was awakened this morning @ 0530 by a crop duster - didn't see him, but sure heard him.  Turboprop type, thought he was coming in the bedroom window.  :banghead: :banghead:
