It is a neat pic. I googled the place and got a look at it. What I thought were floatation bags on the skids is just a metal frame to hold her up.

In my own world, I saw that stupid Cessna Pipeline Patrol plane again....twice ! Always catches me by surprise so I never get a good pic.

I',m doing construction layout work at a tank farm these days. Pipeline aircraft buzzing back and forth all the time. Trouble is no cameras are allowed on site.  :banghead:

They'd need a seed crop of Scorpions first.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Would T-80s be considered an invasive species?

Would an FT-17 be a noxious weed?

With any of the above, the thing that tank farmers have to watch out for is the way that the  crop broadcasts its seeds when they ripen.  Like the Himalayan balsam, explosive ejection of seeds is a feature of the plant. The balsam has a range of 7 metres and is considered a weed to be controlled with paraquat spray.   What range would the "seed" dispersal of an Centurion L105  hybrid be, and what would you use to control its spread?

By the way, tank farms were well established in Greek mythology.     Jason and the Argonauts set sail for the Black Sea where the legend said the Golden Fleece was hidden. After many adventures, the Argonauts reached the kingdom ruled by Aetes. The king, whose help the Argonauts needed, imposed seemingly impossible tasks upon Jason. One was to harness the fire breathing bulls with brazen feet and plough a field. Then he was to sow the ploughed field with dragons' teeth, from which would spring fully armed warriors    A crop of AFVs!!.

Mods, sorry for introducing a bad infestation of thread drift virus, please move this to a "Gardening Tips"  thread (or even a dustbin)  if you think fit.

I always sneak my camera into the plants  When I was working out in Cold Lake I was pretty open about it....no way I'm letting dogfights go without notice ! lol

:tornado:

I do like the idea of a tank farm. But like a storage field like Davis-Monthan.

I imagine about 7 kms.

Would an FT-17 be a noxious weed?

No, it would be considered an original cultivar, just as Einkorn and Emmer are original cultivars of wheat.  ;D

Being an heirloom seed stock it would also be popular with old hippies and organic farmers. ;)
