Captain Canada

Ya I'm really hoping to get a lift in her Chris !

The Voodoo is up on blocks. She was a long time gate guard at CFB Chatham NB, but now resides in London so they are giving her a good going over.

The yellow birds are indeed L-19s. I think they were donated to the Air Cadets by the CDN Army.

Impressive stuff,
An ex-Army mate of my sisters has kindly offered me a bed in his house over in Stanwelll ,Middlesex very very close to Heathrow Airport. Saw my first Airbus A380, up close. Its massive. British Airways run the engines on Concorde from time to time.
Getting very good at plane spotting by the engine noise.

Love the Mitchel shot and the Yaks are very artistic

Both would make nice calendar pics
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Old Wombat

This ...

... looks a bit fake (like a model  ), you need to reduce the definition a touch & make it a little grainy.

Love the Dak!

It is a little grainy, it's just that the overall resolution means you can't see it at that size! If you click through and view it full-size, it's actually a bit rough round the edges. I could add noise to it, but it wouldn't make much difference, again, due to the resolution. The other option would be to re-sample it to a much smaller size (eg. as it's displayed there - the original is nearly 5000px along the long edge) before adding grain, but that kinda defeats the purpose IMO. I'm going to get this one printed up large, so I need all the resolution I can get!

Well not exactly over my house but on Friday I went out to the airport (Prestwick EGPK/PIK) to see if there was anything of interest on the ground for this week-end's Scottish airshow. Not much and certainly not parked in any suitable position for photography, BUT this guy was just taxying out for departure.........

And, just a few minutes after that post XH558, THE VULCAN has just departed.
We heard her and then saw her as she climbed, not a lot, of rwy31 the a quick reversal and a LOW run  before departing to the south.
I do mean LOW as from my view point at the house ( standing in the bidet and looking out of the upper story bathroom window, a great viewing point I have to say) she dissapeared below the house tops before eventually pulling up about abeam the control tower and departing to the SE,all in glorious sunshine. AH!

Not so much "over my house" as below my feet...

Vera and Thumper, the two Lancasters, came back from a display in Northern Ireland with a low level run along Windermere. There must have been over 400 people on this hill (Gummers How  ) all waiting for the flypast but nearly everyone was looking ahead and not down!
That camouflage works rather well above forests   We were at 1000 feet while they were at about 300 feet. ;D

Photos are on my main camera and will appear here when I get home.

Nick , saw the two Lancs over Lancashire as we'll today, as well as a Catalina.  Tonight we're gonna party like its 1944!

Yesterday, not over the house per se, but close enough:  the Gee Bee Q.E.D. Replica.  Fast, Lovely, and Loud.

Wow....great stoey on the Vulcan and can't wait to see those Lanc pics Nick !
