Saw (I think) a KC-46 tanker on final to Forbes Field. They will be based in Wichita Kansas and so Topeka Kansas will loss the Kansas Coyotes KC-135 Air Guard Unit, I worry when the Sound of Freedom fades away.

The first KC-46 won't fly until later this year, probably a KC-767, those are operated by Japan and Italy,
four each.
Columbia and Brazil are customers for the IAI 767 MMTT conversion, Columbia has one, Brazil will be
getting two converted from 767-300ERs.

Is there anything else that wears US Air Force colors that looks llike that?

Tomorrow is ANZAC day downunder.  Very important day with loads of flypasts.  Today, loads of PC-9s practising flypasts, buzzing around like flys powered by chainsaws.

The Nav Canada radar calibrating Canadair Challenger was just doing the airport here. Always nice to watch an aeroplane as lovely as that going low and fast ! Missed the photos tho, as by the time I saw him he was on his second last pass.

It was St George's Day here in UK the other day. Did anything fly over anywhere to celebrate the occasion?

NO!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I can't say I'm surprised Kit, the 'elite' seem to find St Georges day a political and cultural embaressment  :banghead:

Besides, we probably can't afford the fuel...Austerity don't ya know.....

Unfortunately, this year I am laid up with a bad foot, so I missed the Dawn Service.  First time in years I've done so.  This year was important because of the anniversary of the outbreak of WWI.  Next year though, will be super-important as it will be 100 years to the day of the Gallipoli Landings (unfortunately all the politicians are already lining up to ruin that one).  Anyway, this is what the flypast looked like back in 2012.  I don't doubt this years was very similar.

Different countries commemorate these things in different ways.  ANZAC day is like Remembrance Day for you.  It's meaning has changed, from one of remembrance to one almost of celebration.   Modern Australians have forgotten the sacrifice for the most part and today remember the myth of our "coming of age" (by allowing our soldiers to be slaughtered).   There are lots of mixed emotions surrounding the day, a hundred years on.  In some ways it's become a sort of weight around our national consciousness which we can't shake off.

This year Mrs z and I have been horrified by the number of uses of the word "celebration" in relation to ANZAC day (including in TV ads by a well known 'celebrity' bookmaker).  For us ANZAC day is a day we commemorate and remember and thank those Australians who have served and given to make this country what it is today.
So to those who served or are serving, thank you.

Remembrance day on the other hand is a day we commemorate and remember all those who have died in conflict whether military or civilians.

We made the local Dawn Service.  There was a reassuring number of "young people" there and not one of them had confused the Australian flag with an item of clothing.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A couple of days late, but I took this shot of the ANZAC obelisk here in Weymouth on Friday.

Always nice to see their sacrifice was appreciated.  Was there a ceremony on the day?
