Watching those old Beech 18s put on an aerobatic display is certainly fun to watch ! Over here we get to see Matt Yonkin do it at least once a year. Looks and sounds amazing !

I'd never seen one airborne before, I was amazed how well it handled, and how LOAUD it was! Like a two ship formation of Harvards. (T-6's to those who are 'name challenged'.  <_<)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Did an "around the Islands" flight in one (or one of its very near siblings) whilst in Hawaii year ago. Couldn't believe how noisy it was in the cabin, even with headphones on  :o Strangely when it came to my turn to sit next to the pilot it didn't seem so noisy ? Probably just so fascinated by the experience I didn't notice.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Interesting day at YYC. Saw the regular RAF Airbus Voyager followed shortly by the Piaggio Avanti I saw a few days ago and then the An 124 made a landing and taxied right by me.

I was staying with some friends last weekend in Norhants (or maybe Rutland....) and there was loads of stuff coming over. The best was this Beech 18 that gave us a great (and LOUD) aerobatic display.

Must be something going on, because on Saturday at YYC a Beech 18 came into land.

Today I got to see a 747-400F operated by Kalitta Air land on 17R right next to where I was stationed on the apron,

like this one:

EDIT: I forgot to mention the very noisy BAe CT-155 that ripped off the 17R ------

Well, seen over a railway museum yesterday anyway...

The Coventry Air Ambulance, a Hirundo A109 if I'm not mistaken, blasted off TWICE in a tearing hurry during the day. Very smart looking aircraft.

A British Airways 747 was parked on the apron when I got airside this morning, probably being used to rescue stranded Irma vacationers.

Had a real treat at work today at YYC, while looking after some contractors who were repairing some taxiways (right off runway 17R/35L), I saw an odd looking DHC aircraft landing on 17L/35R. It was a deep red from a distance, but then it taxied right past were I was working and to my amazement saw it was a DHC-7.

And it was this particular one;

It must have taken a wrong turning somewhere, YYC's a LONG way from the Antarctic.  ;D ;)

My thoughts were along the same lines Kit, 'what was he doing here'. Anyway it wasn't as shiny as in the pic I linked above, very flat deep red with flat black wings.

Also watched the Kenn Borek Air Basler BT67 coming and going all day. It taxied past my post four or five times through the day too.

This one;

Yesterday, two Super Tucanos broke into the circuit here at Prestwick giving me a nice view out of the kitchen window.
It has taken till to-day to find out who's they were. They are on delivery to the Lebanese Air Force.

Started my 'D' driver training for the airport proper this week, where part of the course is to know who operates out of which apron. Which meant a visit to where Kenn Borek Air is (airside). I got to find out I've been seeing two Kenn Borek Baslers. Plus there's two others, one is a Chinair operated one. It had a Canadian registration, so might explain why it's here.

Yesterday while waiting for my instructor, a BAe CT-155 roared off 17R. Then I saw a line up of six CL-215's waiting for their servicing. Which is part of Viking's job now they have all the rights to them. A Gulfstream 1 I found out is being used by SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) for training. Real nice looking aircraft they are, wish there was a 1/72 kit of it -----

Why does it say 'USAF' on the fin if it's Lebanese?

The Gulfstream I is the turbo-prop version, isn't it? I thought Welsh Models did one, very early in his 1/72 range, but it would have been ages ago.
