Googling it, it might have been a Dash 8 and they do fly in and out of London City

At YYC today, two C-130's which might have been the 'H' variant. One definitely had a refueling boom mounted over the cockpit, both were a dark grey. And a RAF C-17 taxied right past my truck from where I was parked on apron 1

Just seen a pair of Venom/Vampires over South Croydon, heading NE. (5 mins ago)

They were about 1500ft, perhaps heading to Biggin?

Lots of floatplane action up here, just small guys tho. Saw the life flight chopper and a Long Ranger today

In the middle of this afternoon a private scheme Eurocopter EC145 came over VERY low, like 100ft above my roof, droned into the centre of town and LANDED! 

As I hadn't got a clue where there was enough space to do that, not without blocking the roads, I got on my bike and went to find it. Apparently it had landed on the local Rugby Club's pitch (I worked it out by cross referencing the sound from 2-3 different places) but I couldn't actually see it as the buildings were in the way and the gates were being guarded by what looked like off-duty USSS guys. Very mysterious.......

Not seen but heard : Somat with military power, and speed, just blasted over the house. It's overcast and twilight so didn't see any shapes or lights, but it was fast and loud ! The way we like it

So there was I, head down, weeding the Imperial vegetable garden at Chateau Rheged, when a mighty roaring sound rent the air . As I raised my head, I was just in time to see a Tornado with lots of things hanging off the wings  hurtling off towards Wales, at about 400 knots and 500 feet.   It was silhouetted against the cloud, so I couldn't see any of the usual things........registration number, colour of driver's eyes, state of the passenger's moustache etc.........

I waited for a minute or two, for his playmate to come along, but there was no sign of a second aircraft.  This generates certain questions.......

1)  Are the  Taffia  getting stroppy again?.....or alternatively...

2)Has Llandrindod Wells declared UDI (and would we notice if they did so)?

3) Are the RAF letting their  pilots out to play on their own, now?......or more likely.....

4) Is it because it's  the end of the month, and the budget will only allow one aeroplane to fly?

A Cessna 172 and a Piper Cherokee. Not interesting on their own, but as low as you can legally go and in very nice formation. Different and cool to see them so close together!

The clouds were so low today that at one time en route to Merthyr I was ABOVE them!

On the way into Hereford Cathedral this morning, a high-vis orange pyramid with a high vis lime green windsock has appeared at the end of the road into the village. I assume that it's a marker for the King's Cup air races taking place at Shobdon airfield, but no interesting sightings as yet.......

Later,   much noise of light aircraft engines, but nothing  actually visible.

Not altogether surprising as they were departing Prestwick, Back to their home bases after yesterdays airshow.
