Captain Canada

This guy just flew over the house. Looks like a Russian engine job.

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!
Vive les Canadiens !
Where's my beer ?

Knightflyer

Well not quite (if at all!) over my house

But had the week-end in Bonn/Cologne with my son for his birthday. He was plane-spotting, I went sight-seeing although I did spend some time with him at the airport

Most interesting plane as far as I was concerned was this one. Apologies for the quality of the photo. Basic camera (mine!), dusk shot through the departures area window

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Captain Canada

Cool shot. Looks like it overshot the runway !

KiwiZac

Yeah, that's weird!! Is it actually on an airport, or some sort of off-airport hotel/attraction?

Over at Cardington yesterday:

It's still there  :banghead:

BBC turned up with a full crew and quite a big build up on the early evening news and the thing refused to budge  :banghead: A last minute technical glitch according to yesterday's I. Also according to said paper "it's not known when another attempt at lift-off will be made". The BBC didn't return to the story in the lat evening news, I suppose they couldn't after the build up they gave it.

I was going to say that from what I remember as I saw it from a distance on the Airport Bus it's actually between a car-park and office building just outside of the 'air-side' area, but double checking on Google (see below) it's actually IN the car-park in front of the office building. I wish I'd gone and checked it out properly now  :banghead:

It's quite an interesting aircraft now I've done a bit more research - more here

Madame R  saw a couple of Merlins, moving South, in mid afternoon.   She describes them as flying uncomfortably low.

Are all the Merlins in the Navy now? I know the RAF transferred some of them to the FAA but was it all of them?

She was looking at them against the sun, so only had a silhouette to work on.   My younger son showed her pix until we had a cry of "That was them".    May have been FAA or RAF.

Well the people at Cardington obviously read these pages as the Airlander took off yesterday at 7:40pm. Nothing on the Beeb news but this is the Telegraph's bit.

not really my house, as I was travelling in Sweden,

and not really above either, as it concerns a subterranean aviation (!!!) museum
(subterranean aviation is quite an undergound concept indeed)
http://www.aeroseum.se/english/

unfortunately I didn't have time to visit it, but the oradside signposts are already a sight :

as visible on google streetview ;
and if you go a few meters  further, suddenly you make a time travel too, and see another aircraft!

As I walked up to the Palace Parade this morning I was surprised to see a medium size twin turbo prop making a wide turn just below what was a low cloudbase. Obviously going into London City but they don't normally appear that low when you see them from the Palace.

First thoughts, showing my age, was that it was a Fokker Friendship, but when I checked after getting home it might have been a Fokker 50 given the height of the tail tail, although I didn't notice the large fin fillet. Not sure what else it might have been ?

A Bombardier Dash 8 of some sort?

They come in all sorts of lengths, I think Bombardier squeeze them out like toothpaste.....

Yes it their alternative approach to fitting longer wings.
