Seeing the Atlas would be awesome !

It's a seriously impressive aircraft, especially when looking at the props!

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

ZZ333

the photos of ZZ175 are almost the same as the ones I took on Monday

looking slightly in the opposite direction to where the Voyagers are parked, we have a UPS 767-300F and a FedEx A330-300

the 767 is the first one I've seen with winglets ---

I wonder what'll happen when the RAF get up to ZZ999? If there IS a RAF by then of course................

You could just adopt an alphabet that has a couple of more letters at the end. The Finnish/Swedish one should last you a few years

At the current rate of procurement there should be plenty of time to go before then!  there's only one aircraft in the ZT range it seems.

The ZZ range appears to being used up in a rather random manner.  I wonder whether the F-4F that Hunter Aviation are planning to operate on a contract basis will be in the ZZ range?

Also MOD are backfilling previously unused serial blocks in some cases - the Watchkeepers are in the WK001-060 range (see http://www.ukserials.com/).

Looking through the UK Serials list, there's lots of un-used numbers that can be used up, I've even seen some from a block being used now which was last used in the 1950's/60's

Noooooooooo, don't use up the blackout blocks! We'll have no scope for our Whiffs then!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I would think that they will start using three letters and hopefully keep with three numbers after them so it would be AAA001, AAA002 etc after all if you follow the progression of UK military aircraft serials from around WWI onwards they did at some point have a single letter followed by four numbers. If I remember correctly  :-\

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

NARSES2

I've been looking for a suitable serial number for my P.R.Comet (found an unused one of about the right period) and the UK has used numbers, single letter and numbers, two letters and numbers as serials in the past so presumably if we ever get there they will go 3 letters or could they go numbers followed by a letter ?

Never realised the unused blocks were there to confuse until I started looking this up. You learn something new every day if you keep an open mind
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

The last single letter serial was Z9978, a Blenheim IV, which was allocated in 1940 but was actually cancelled. It was followed by AA100, another Blenheim IV, so I guess AAA100 might the first three letter serial.

Captain Canada

I was weeding the garden this am and something neat flew over way up in the sky. It looked like a starship or a piaggio or somat, with a blue stripe around the aft fuselage. Of course I was on my kness and my paws were covered in mud so no use running around trying to suss the camera before it was gone....she was moving ! Now there seems to be a steady stream of civvy types way up there heading East. perhaps returning from Oshkosh ?

ZZ333 was parked when I got to where I was working today, don't know whether she had gone home Saturday and then come back yesterday, or had been there all weekend.

I guess the RAFs A400 flew into Toronto. A stopover on it's way south, having originally alighted at Goose Bay or Gander. Would have loved to have seen ( and heard ) that one ! The Rat says he thought he saw it.
