Over Ashby, Scunthorpe, Nth Lincs. PR Spitfire and a Hurricane doing circuits of Ashby. It seems i was the only one in the street watching. Kids on local field showed not the slightest bit of interest. Has the significance of these icons been lost to todays generation?

The RAAF C17 at Avalon for the airshow spent more time taxiing backwards than going forwards.  It was almost as if they were trying to wind the odometer back...

Defence cuts, helps to delay scheduled overhauls  ;D...........and I hope I'm joking

Flying lowish over Crystal Palace this morning some twin engine turbo-prop job. Looked as though it would hit the Tower. Very unusual to see something at that type of altitude in the area. I assume it was London City bound ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

I loved watching the commuter airlines going into London. Big fan of the BAe-146 and we never see them around here !

There's half a dozen of them waiting to be scrapped at Kemble.

The Wooksta!

Something - I'm presuming Eurofighter as I didn't actually see it - has just whooshed over me house.  A Spitfire overflew me Mam's earlier and I saw a pair of Vampire T11s overfly the Toon earlier.

Reason for all the activity?  The Mackem Airshow is on this weekend.

Rheged

All I managed to see today was an overcast nimbo-stratus layer at about 500 feet.    I was persisting down!!

It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

The Wooksta!

Couple of small single engined things just flew over.

Saw a funny contrail in the sky....lo and behold it was a C-5. Thought this shot was pretty cool.

Then the Henry Ford Hospital chopper took off from the hospital where Mrs. Canada works ( in America  )

OK, today when I got to work at the same place I was at Monday, there was a Voyager already parked there, ZZ332 which is a KC.3 but about 90 minutes later it left, later a C-17 arrived (does the RAF have it's own name for the C-17?), turned out to be ZZ175 again. Then at the end of the day another Voyager turned up, this time it was ZZ333 which is also a KC.3. This was promptly parked right in front of me ---  ;D

(pics to follow when the cell gets re-charged)
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Thanks Robert ! It was pretty lucky....I was focused on trying to get a clear pic of the C-5 and the other one just kinda 'got in the way' lol

It looks like there's more RAF aircraft in Canada these days than there are in the UK!  :o

Not all RAF aircraft are in Canada at the moment.
This Atlas was here at Prestwick a couple of days ago training. It arrived and flew an ILS procedure, went arouns of that which brought him over the house, then flew another procedure with a go around and departed to the South. These shots show him departing and are both about two miles away from the house.

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

(does the RAF have it's own name for the C-17?),

Yes, the Globemaster...........  ;D

But most of the guys at Brize call them 'Seventeens'.
