For you and me, yes, but not when it results in Mrs_PR19 coming down the hall screaming 'WHAT was that???'  :o

No piccies but the BoB Lancaster flew over yesterday afternoon. It looked and sounded amazing.

You and I can't be that far apart then Spinners.  ;D

The Lanc and Red Arrows were at the (free) Swansea Air Show as was a Typhoon whose glorious jet thunder could be heard across the bay.

Ahah, yes, a Swansea to Conningsby flight path does go pretty close to Lydney, so long as you keep dodging OVER the roofs of all the houses in the way!  :o

It occurs to me that they may have been flying at 250 ft amsl, and my house is 175 ft above the high water line so 250 - 175 = not that much!

Well there's your next project Kit: a Lanc with longer wings so it can fly at a decent height  ;). Be sure to send the BBMF a pic when it's done....

Hehehe, isn't that a  Lincoln?  ;D

I have something rather like that on the bench, but it has no gun turrets.......  ;)

A few days ago, while our son was home for a weeks R&R, he and SWMBO decided they wanted to go for a walk along the shore at low tide.
There is a good spot less than two miles away and it just so happens it is just off the upwind end of Rwy31 at Prestwick.
As I can not walk very well now, I sat on the top of the sand dunes with camera in hand, and was rewarded by this Herk departing from said runway.

8:30 LAST EVENING a crop duster was doing two fields just next to our little village - WHY was he doing it this late?  Our poor dogs were most upset!

Not a plane, but probably one of the rarest things I've spotted, a working Sinclair C5!!!  On the way home yesterday and had to divert due to roadworks, a guy was just pootling along in the opposite direction.  I remember all the press about them in the eighties, but this is the first time I've seen one that isn't a stationary exhibt.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Did you have rain earlier or was there a heavy dew ?  From what the farmer who does the fields around my place said to me was you can't spray with anything until the damp has dried off.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
