Doesn't matter Kit they still sound like a swarm of angry bees/sewing machines.

Not exactly over my house, but on the M40 on my way to Headington a Lovely dark green Merlin flew over at about 500ft.

En route to or from RAF Benson no doubt. I don't think I've ever seen a Merlin airborne apart from at an airshow. I obviously live in the wrong place as this seems to be 'Chinook Country' around here.

I get Navy ones around here fairly often, and have had the odd green one too. Though Lynx 8s are much more common than either.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Ah yes, PT-6, the sound of ten thousand angry sewing machines in unison!

Yes,that does rather describe the sound.  Sort of like a really, really fast lawnmower.  ;D

The Navy's Blimp out of Lakehurst come to inspect Brick.  Unfortunately by the time I had my phone out to snap the pic, it had started turning around and using the headwind as a tailwind.

Been getting a lot of Lynxes flying over my area of late, not sure of the model but most are grey green with tricycle landing gear and a few navy( I presume) all grey with skids on them too. The guy who owns an old mill just off the M61 (Bottany Bay) has been practicing his nap of earth at night flying too as he went over last night, very low over the back of where I live, in the dark. We still get plenty of Chinooks over too, they seem to follow the M61 or M6 up and down.

Yes indeed!  TFR isn't "Terrain Following Radar", it  used to be "Travels Following Railways"  but since Dr Beeching passed through, it's "Travels Following Roads"   as the main mode of navigation.   There's still a lot to be said for the Ordnance Survey map and the Human Eyeball Mk 1

When I fly, not only do I have my aviation sectional maps, but also good highway maps as well. When I flew cross country I would draw my course line and annotate the obstructions such as towers, antenna and such on my road map, as I used it more for navigation than a the sectional.  Though railroad tracks are often more direct than highways, they still meander some...especially in areas where there is soft soils, water and other natural barriers.

Zillions of airliners heading west this morning.

Of course I'm right under what used to be called Green One and it's CAVU here too. (That's 'Ceiling And Visibilty Unlimted' as there are no clouds today)

Just one example of umpteen

300 mmm lens at full zoom, and I think it's a 767-300.

Lucky you.  I'm under 8/8 nim/strat, and a cloudbase of about 150 feet. Much  lower and it would be scraping  the roofs of passing buses.

Not today, but yesterday one of the VC-25As was doing touch and goes at ACY.  Been awhile since they've been here

Here are a few recent shots...starting with several frames compiled together to see a departing regional jet departing runway 21 at KATW as seen from my backyard.
