...in finger-four formation. Definitely low-wing, throaty-engined propeller beasts. Too far away to properly identify by the time I could rush into the house and get a pair of binoculars. Probably "Texans", but possibly Mustangs.

Regardless, my blood pumped faster when I spotted them!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

today, there was an Antonov An-2 doing circuits over the town for most of the afternoon. a bit high up for my camera, but nice to see all the same.

Nothing exciting here, just the usual C-5's, C-17's, C-130's and a lot of small General Aviation types.  Just another boring Saturday in Central Delaware . . .

Fulcrum

First day of the airshow at my local airport(the first since the RCAF name change), couldn't go so I had to stand outside my apartment starring in the general direction of Waterloo Regional:
-a transport plane(possibly a CN-235 type) flying over my neighbourhood numerous times(first time it was in formation with a smaller red aerobatic aircraft for a possible photo-op, then it kept flying a curcuit over my apartment)
-a fast moving speck of a high performance jet(either a USAF F-16 or RCAF CF-18) in the far distance to the north goes vertical into the clouds & returning downwards a couple of seconds later(because of the possible risk of thunderstorms that day, I had a hard time distingushing between possible thunder rumblings & a jet engine that lasted several minutes before I made the sighting)
-Spotted a Korean war-era fighter jet(either a F-86 or a Mig-15 with their swept back wings & nose intake) in a turn back to the airport in the northwest behind the unusual tall residential building

the Antonov Colt was up again today. The first time it was high enough that I thought it might be taking some skydivers up. The second time, it was pulling a sailplane of some description up into the air and then hung around after releasing the glider.

just got back from the open house of the Brugges fire dept., we got a visit from a Sea King Mk48 and the local EMS AS.355F1.
on the way home, i discovered wrecks from 3 Mi-26 Halo's (orriginaly destined for the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo)) but never delivered, so they're practicly full scale whiffs  ;D.
and i also found the wreckage of a Yellow RAF Westland Whirlwind HAS.5 (serial XM660)  ;D

pics to follow

It must have been a Bank Holiday weekend, the Air Ambulance Dauphin and both RAF and RN Sea Kings  were going regularly in to the Cumberland Infirmary  helispot with bent and broken climbers, walkers and motor cyclists.

Got buzzed by a pair of low flying Merlins yesterday. judging from the direction they were headed for Odiham..

bit late this one but i've been nowhere near a computer to post such since it happened.....

last friday in the murk and rain near coventry airport a VC-10K tanker was noted making one low pass at 1305hrs.

a/c was barely visible as the cloud base was only 600 - 700 feet but it was very welcome all the same.

apparently VC-10's are very rare at coventry and this one was trying to make bruntingthorpe for delivery but is
now going to have to try again.

Don't appologise for showing us unusual aircraft, Marek.

I just wish the Polish Navy would send an Mi-14 down to Ostrava for the annual NATO Day event sometime.
