K tonite is my IPMS meeting and I'll tell Nat (the guy organising it) that we still want a What If display table.
If you want to move to the vendors area and man the tables that's an option but we would have to pay for the table, about $100 I think.
I need to know who's coming and bringing what.
Let's use this thread as a kind of conference call for the interested parties in sorting out some logistics.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Leigh,
Lets keep it out of the Vendors area.  Would rather man it on occasion in the Display area otherwise, people will keep coming up trying to buy the kits.

Still not 100% that I will be there but am still planning on it.
Would bring my Israli S-92 and South Korean F-47D (both 72nd).
Have 4-5 whiffs under contruction/planning.  May enter 1-2 in Hypothetical but others would be on the table.

I would like to man the table when I can.  Got work around taking pics for our site, seminars, tours and family time at the parks.

We should also see if we can knock together some land, sea, and space subjects for the Whiffery area.  That way we can convince more people that the subject matter does not necessarily need to have wings on it.  That it is all about having fun.  That ""What-If", is the cure for AMS".

I should have Wallace modified to be Steve McQueen from the Great Escape ready by then so I'll bung that on for some variation.

Right now I'm counting about 35 complete models between the lot of us, so yeah we can definately make a go of this.

What I like to do when I show mine is print up a sheet with any backstory and a picture on some nice glossy paper and put it in a plastic sleeve with the Model. I was thinking an idea might be to do this in a uniform manner and put them in a binder or two on the table so people can actually learn a bit about what they are looking at, include progress shots or whatever too.
If you guys want to send me pics and stories I'll be happy to format them and print them up, if you think it's a good idea.

Nat's out of town this weekend I'll call him Monday.

Did anyone get tickets to the banquet? I've not yet and I'm gonna be alone that week 'cos Jonelle's working in Scotland all that month. So if yer going we could possibly dine together?

Sounding good so far Leigh.

I probably won't do the banquet.  Did the first couple I went to but just too much money for what little lousy food they have.  I have been able to get into the awards portion on a couple of these, sometimes for a small fee but they just are too long.  I can see the winners in the Journal.

Wouldn't it be easier for everyone who is participating to PM you and then you E-mail them your format?  Hopefully sometime before printing it gets spell checked. B)

Right now I am trying to think up of something land based to add to the pile.

I'm coming, but I wasn't planning on bringing any models. It's a long way from Brussels to LA gently cradling a 4 engined 1/48 Flanker...

Ok, flights are booked. Can I get a ticket in advance or can I just pay on the day?

I am not now, nor I have I ever been a member of the IPMS.

Simon,
You can pay at the door and you don't have to be an IPMS member to come in and look around, just to enter.
If you are going to be there more than one day, they usually have a pass for a cheaper amount.
