Hello all,
Want to run this GB idea by you for your input. I hosted one like this earlier this year and it was very creative and fun. I would sure like to host another. Here are the guidelines........

* Build ANY aircraft from the 1930's and 40's used/not used for combat in WWII. This includes any experimental planes as well.

* Create a hybrid plane by scratchbuilding or kitbashing.

* Redesign your planes original paint scheme. Create something that would have been more effective or just plain looked cooler.

* Give your allied plane over to the axis or vis versa and paint accordingly. Example, what would a P-40 look like with a Luftwaffe winter camo job?

* Put your plane in a different theater and paint accordingly. Example, A carrier based P-47 in Pacific tri color?

* Add additional equipment and/or armament to the build

Any additional options will be welcomed :D

Andy I totally love this idea! I can't think of anything that would add to it but if you get some interestest, I'm in!

P.S. A requirement that the finished product have spats might be an idea...I love spats!

I'd definitely be in as well.

Hmmm... A spatted group build, you may be on to something Brian. ^_^

Allright, nice response so far. Anymore takers? I'll be glad to do it if only 4 or 5 people commit.

If we have a rather loose time table, I'd be in.

I love the idea.  It would be a great way to get some ideas into actual plastic.

I'm with Lee on this one, unless I'm missing something, the only requirement is that its a 30s/40s plane.  Everything else is standard whiffing.

Well adding the spats requirement would make this one different!

Perhaps requiring that entries must have either spats, skis or floats would be an idea. We could call it the Alt. Landing Gear GB. :)

Did I mention that I love spats?

BdB the "Alt. Landing Gear GB" sounds cool if you were to include Ficon, that funky trapeze thing they used with dirigibles, and things like rubber runways for carriers (edit: and skycrane) you'd have me onboard in a heartbeat  :)

Daryl J.

Spats or floats on a Ki-115 would be very cool as would skiis on that manned Buzz Bomb in some recon mode-------->

Both machines would become reusable, two-way-trip aircraft.

Well, if the Basher gets to add spats, then i get to add Canadian Roundels to the requirements !

I say, move it over to the repository already...it sure is a general GB ! But, I would like to do a WWII prop job soon, in 48th scale........

Ahhh yes, the FiCon and the Sky Trapeze! How could I have forgotten? Of course, those would qualify!

Wulf, are you game for this? Since you started the thread, I nominate you for moderator. Might be time to PM Thorvic and/or Supertom and see if we can get this one off the ground!

Hmmm the Alt. Landing Gear/VSTOL GB sounds like a winner! I like the idea of broadening the requirements a bit to get as many folks involved as possible. Tracks would certainly count as alt. landing gear in my book.
