Thanks for that image JCF   Really shows the size of that barrel in comparison to the crew members  :o
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmmm, I reckon I could scratchbuild that turret to go in place of the original gun shield.

Not sure I could build enough extra beam into the kit to ensure it WOULDN'T sink at the stern in the RW though!  :o

I seem to be talking myself into getting one of these..............  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I seem to be getting more interested in these Monitor things - it's probably associated with my liking for the the MTB/MGB range.

Thankfully, the Monitors are a wee bit too large in 1/72 to do more than toy with the idea from time to time...
But, they'd be relatively easy to scratchbuild in that scale... oops :banghead:

One thing has been itching me for yrs ...the Dora 80cm rail gun..the massive 1200 plus ton cannon which sat on two sets of rail tracks .
Now ive always wanted the 35th scale model of this gun ..yes I am that nuts 🤪
Common sense tho is slowly creeping in and the 72nd scale Hobbyboss kit is something I'm seriously thinking about ..might be a early Xmas gift to myself I'm thinking 🤔 😅
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

It isn't that big really 🤔
Ita only 210mm wide ..so quite narrow ..it's slightly longer than 1100mm tho ..no idea about the height..can't find the info for some reason but I'm betting close to 300 to 350mm ...not a weekend build  ;D

Scroll down and check the prices out from the stores who have this kit for sale and then compare them to the amount this model is for sale here on Trademe ,,,which is NZ $213.75 .
Yeah that pretty much made up my mind on the whole idea and the very annoying itch  ;D

Y'all have fun with that, now.

Ye Gods, have you seen the instruction sheet?  :o

There's about a dozen sprues, plus maybe another ten major parts even before the PE stuff. And all this in a 1/72 scale kit!  :-\

As the cheapest on offer was AU$275.52 from Poland (the most expensive being AU$479.89 - from the US uv A), & those prices won't be including Postage & Handling, I'd be grabbing the Kiwi TradeMe item (AU$195.08) as a considerable bargain!

If I was into Bloody Big German Artillery, that is.

Which (thankfully) I'm not.
