Leave it to Telford Kit and then we can all peek in the box  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's not a bad idea Chris, and some places may be selling them at a discount too.

I did, and pretty good it looks too. Thanks for the link H.

I'm sure I saw a post with a ridiculous price for a Lord Clive on the site somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

Here's a link to what I'd pay here in Aus;

That's an excellent price Womby, it's a pity that the postage from Oz would probably triple it for me! :(

They're around £40-45 over here, IF anyone actually had any, which they don't. I can't help feeling that in a month or two all model shows will have ZILLIONS of Lord Clive monitors on show!  :o

None of them will be like mine though, when I get it..................  ;)

One of the two* ship modellers at Wor Club has just finished one.

*I say two, it's really one dedicated ship modeller.  Whereas Steve will build anything.

Just a heads-up in case you haven't noticed Kit, Hobbyboss are also boxing this as the General Wolfe now, so bear that in mind when you do web searches. For instance, Jadlam have the General Wolfe in stock but are sold out of Lord Clives.

I hadn't, and thanks.

It didn't occur to Jadlam to let me know this, despite me having a request in to let me know when the kit was available of course.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

I only found it because I was idly looking for boats to butcher to make McQueJobs out of them...

No, I won't be doing that to a Lord Clive...

Thing is, if you specifically asked about the Lord Clive availability and, the (presumed) rebox ) arrived,, it simply may not have occurred to let you know because the staff might not actually know it was an identical ship?

I mean no offence by the way as, I have been in a similar situation myself involving the (then out of stock) Trumpeter 1/350 H M S Roberts monitor vessel! How was I to know H M S Abercrombie was essentially the same kit! 😉😂. Mea Culpa!

With ships it's always worth checking all the class names. Putting out the same plastic with a different name and pennant number every year is pretty much standard practice in the ship model companies. The decal sheets tend to be small and cheap.

Saw this at this week's club meeting and immediately thought of you, Kit.

And it's not a whif - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Roberts_(1915).  Sorry, didn't think to ask about scale, kit, etc, but there are two kits (resin 1/700 and a Trumpy 1/350 effort) - doesn't look like the latter but I don't know for sure.  It could be a conversion/scratch build, of course.

Thank you Dave, that looks terrific.

Monitors are such fascinating ships, so bizarre that they're almost real world Whiffs! And the Lord Clive & General Grant, with that MASSIVE aft turret in their later years, were the Whiffiest of the lot!  :o

It seems Father Christmas may be bringing me such a kit later in the month...........  ;)
