Like the Italeri F-16C, these two have been on hold for awhile.  The first is an Israeli A-10, partly inspired by the A-10 in the gallery here.

Here's the camo diagram I downloaded somewhere.

I don't have a picture of the Phil AF A-10 scheme, but it'll be based on the scheme used on their OV-10s.

Here's a pic of both of the Hawgs so far.  You can see there are 4 ejection seats.  Two are Escapac and two are spare ACES II seats.  If they can fit, I'll use the ACES seats to replace the kit's Escapacs.

Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Looks & sounds great!  I'm really looking forward to the Philippines AF A-10.  Maybe, it could be loaded out for anti-piracy & maritime sovereignty patrol?

sounds tempting, especially if I make a backstory of it being deployed near the contested Spratley Islands.  Right now, I'm leaning more towards a COIN loadout, mainly with some AGM-65s, CBUs, and rocket pods.

Oh, and I forgot to add, the Phil AF A-10 will carry the markings of the 16th Attack Squadron, 15th Strike Wing, which includes a Shark's mouth on the nose.

And I'm not going to post this part until I'm finished, but wait until you see the ladder door art

No progress today, but I did make a paint scheme diagram for the Phil AF A-10

It will have the markings of the 16th Attack Squadron, 15th Strike Wing.  I haven't decided on decal placement though.  I'm basing most of this on the diagram and information provided with the Cutting Edge OV-10 decal sheet.  This A-10 will also have a shark's mouth on it.

Slight OT, but if I ever do a aggressor F-16 for that new unit in Alaska, I'm gonna use that scheme!

I have the fuselage together, with the seems filled in and sanded, and the engine assembly is almost complete.  Hope to have some pictures for you guys tonight!

as I mentioned in my Italeri F-16 thread, I ran into a snag involving my airbrush.  The front part of the engine nacelles need to be fixed as a result.  So, I didn't make nearly as much progress today as I hoped.

But here are some pics to share:

Thanks Brian!

cockpit in place, fuselage piece added and gun added.  I'll sand the putty around the fuselage piece and sponsoons (sponsoon fit was horrible) tomorrow.  I'll probably take a break from this kit after that since I ran into some airbrush problems and I've assembled most of the kit.  Plus I'll be out of the town for the weekend.

Phil AF, I can tell them apart right now becuase the Phil AF A-10 doesn't have it's ladder door attached.  I plan to have a pilot figure climbing out of the cockpit, and some special, risque ladder door art ;)

Just a few small additions.  more parts of the cockpit installed, and I would have the canopies installed, but I have to sand down the ACES ejection seats a bit first.  The kit includes an Escapac ejection seat, so I replaced both of them with some spares ACES seats.  Also, I finished the engine nacelles, which included painting the inside (pale green for the Phil AF, and gray for the IDF)  They've also been installed finally.

Love the A-10, so it's always good to see someone building them and planning on putting them in other markings!  How is the Tamiya kit?  I built my USMC A-10W from the horrible Hobbycraft kit with a ton of fit problems.

ah, I remember that one.  Weren't you the one with the MARPAT all over the Hawg?  That's a difficult scheme to achieve, and turned out great.

The Tamiya kit is going along ok.  For the most part, the parts fit well, but the fit around the sponsoons is just horrible (notice the amount of putty)  The weapons are useless, and I had to cut off the attachment points on the hardpoints.  The ejection seat is nice, but I have to replace it with a spare ACES, as the kit seat is an ESCAPAC.  Cockpit detail is bare, and is mainly represented by decals.  So..., the buildup is great, but the smaller details in the cockpit and weapons are lacking.

I can't seem to find a pic of it via a cursory Google search, but the PhilAF Broncos now have white areas painted on the tops of the wings to aid in visibility (presumably during training?). I'll have go digging through my past issues of International Air Power Review as I think there were some good pics of the top surface of the Bronco's wings.

Yes, the MARPAT Hawg is mine, thanks.  The weapons were useless in the Hobbycraft kit as well, I wound up using a mix from the Hasegawa sets I've collected.  I had fit problems from nose to tail, top and bottom, but it was a good kit for practicing my putty/sand/repeat skills.  Cockpit was a bare slate, so I used my imagination and some scraps to make an "all glass" cockpit for my Hawg.

Keep us updated on yours, they're looking good so far.
