QuoteI can't seem to find a pic of it via a cursory Google search, but the PhilAF Broncos now have white areas painted on the tops of the wings to aid in visibility (presumably during training?). I'll have go digging through my past issues of International Air Power Review as I think there were some good pics of the top surface of the Bronco's wings.
ah, well that's ok, I think I'm going for a fully camoflaged aircraft without bright markings in this build up.  Thanks for the info though.

Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

QuoteYes, the MARPAT Hawg is mine, thanks.  The weapons were useless in the Hobbycraft kit as well, I wound up using a mix from the Hasegawa sets I've collected.  I had fit problems from nose to tail, top and bottom, but it was a good kit for practicing my putty/sand/repeat skills.  Cockpit was a bare slate, so I used my imagination and some scraps to make an "all glass" cockpit for my Hawg.

Keep us updated on yours, they're looking good so far.
Thanks for the compliment.  The Tamiya Hawgs also have a bare cockpit, and it took a lot of sanding and the removal of a huge chunk of my spare ACES II seat, to fit it in the IDF cockpit.  I didn't have to many mods to the Phil AF cockpit, since the canopy will be open.

these photos are 2 or 3 wks old, because I've barely touched my models recently.  I've been busy lately getting ready to go back to school next week.

As you can tell, I've masked the canopies and cockpit of the Phil AF A-10.  The IDF A-10 has a closed canopy.  Since these photos were taken, I've primered the upper fuselage and painted the gear wells.  Hopefully, I'll have the gun painted and masked tomorrow, and have the entire aircraft primed again.

What the heck, I decided to take some quick pictures tonight before I paint the gun and primer it again tomorrow.  You can see around the engine nacelles where I had to sand some more, and behind the cockpit of the IDF Hawg

well, I warn ya, I tend to start projects and then step away from them for long periods of time

As for A-10 kits, I have 2 Tamiya, 2 AMT, 1 Revell and I think 16 or more Monogram Hawgs.  Haven't counted them recently.

Primered and such.  I didn't get as much done as I wanted since I had to run a few errands today.  I probably won't get a chance to apply the paint scheme until next week since I"ll be out of town starting tomorrow evening until Sunday night.

The IDF Hawg.  I've also been throwing around some ideas of possibly putting a scorpion face on the nose.  I'll work more on that once I have the gray and sand colors applied.

Phil AF Hawg.  The F-4 in the background is my Monogram F-4J being made into a Phil AF F-4J.  That's currently bogged down by a problem with the front canopy.

Dude, go for the tan warthawg face like the AF Peanut scheme:

I've just started school, so my modeling time has been drastically cut.

The Phil AF Hawg has had the light blue applied.  According to the Cutting Edge OV-10 sheet, Duck Egg blue is the recommended color, but the Testors paint looks a too gray based on some reference photos, so I grabbed a light blue spray can that I used on an earlier project, and I think it works well.  I'll post photos of it, once I finish the camo scheme.

I decided to have this update to show you guys what I was doing about the IDF Scorpion.  As I've mentioned before, I'm using spare Italeri F-16 decals for this project, but the problem with the decals is that the Scorpion is printed white, instead of sand.  So, this is what I'm doing to solve that.

Here's the IDF Hawg as of now.  Lt Ghost Gray has been applied to the bottom and Sand has been applied to the top.

Here's the Italeri decal.  My scanner couldn't distinguish well enough between the white and the decal paper, so I outlined the scorpion with a thin pointed Sharpie.

I cleaned up the image using Photoshop and switched the image to a black and white bitmap.  I have a CD label making program on my computer, so I used that program to print the scorpions on leftover label paper.  (I actually had this project in mind when I saved the paper.)

Now, I cut them out and place them on the tail.  I printed 4, so I have 2 spairs in case I screw up.  If not, I'll use them towards my IDF Viper project whenever I get back to it.  I just have to cut out the mask with a xacto knife and then spray the rest of the camo scheme over it.  I'll do that tomorrow, and I hope to have the scorpion head mask done tomorrow for the nose.
