Got my Cornwallis Mk.III diorama finished today.  Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours applying MiG pigments to the base (by Milicast).  Unfortunately they don't show up to well in these photos - I'm still using my new camera on Auto, need to fiddle with the settings a bit, hence the slightly washed out look.  Any tips on settings gratefully received, I'm a bit of a point and shoot man when it comes to camers.

Our 3 erstwhile heroes.

For those who don't know, this was my entry in the Airfix GB  here and a thread on the figures is here

Again, any tips on camera settings appreciated.  Its a Fuji S5600 if that helps - bit  more advanced than my sony cybershot.

Looks like a typical military work schedule...a bunch of guys standing around, while one is actually trying to do something.
Great dio, has a real sense of life to it, and a great sense of humor!

Wow that's totally aces, Nev! It looks so lifelike and realistic. Why, if you photographed it in black & white it could fool historians the way Matrixone's stuff does! Excellent work!

nev,

Great job on your diorama!

The colors in your pictures have that WWII era color photography look to them and I would not want to change that effect.

Maybe the lighting was not bright enough, when I am outside taking pictures of my models I also get the colors dulled down when the weather is overcast, sometimes only a very slight change in the cloud thickness can make for BIG differences in the color level.

I use a FujiFilm FinePix 3100 and the only feature I use is the Macro function, I don't ever change any of the settings and have had decent results so far.

Nev, looks great! I really like the mini diorama, really goes great with the armor. Nice work on the figs too!

Wow, Nev.  This IS good!!      Hope you don't mind me playing with the scene:

Great looking diorama! B) I dig the whole scene Daddy-O. Excellent work.

It may sound weird, but try using the flash outside. You'll be surprised at the results. Also, try reflecting diffused natural light on the subject. Sunrise and sunset light also does wonders. :)

Another thing to try is manual white balance

Excellent diaorama there :)

Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction
Murphy's 3rd Law - For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

Thanks guys, heres another one taken indoors at night-time.  I really like the composition of the shot, but its still too dark in places and I can't use the flash as it just completely whites out the shot.  Also, there is a lot of curvature in the shot - the base has a slight camber, but not like this.
