But it NEEDS an engine to be built properly. The RW lump is a turbo 4, but something with more grunt would be good, after all it only had 540 bhp.  ;D

And no, I don't think a Hemi would work, something from Dearborn might though, a Cammer maybe?

I can't remember which, but there is another kit that could provide the real engine. It was mentioned when we were talking about the Capri previously.

If I was to try to "full detail" a Tamiya Zakspeed Mustang my first thought for a donor chassis and engine would be one of these.

V8 engine and a nicely detailed chassis.

There might be issues with wheelbase and width given the Capri is 1/24 and the Mustang 1/25.  But you never know until you try.
20 years ago there were heaps of the various variants of the Mustang about on evil-bay.  I wish i'd bought more than one (how many times do we say that!).  They have a reputation for the bodies and the tailgates warping but mine built up OK.

That was the one.  Without looking at other details, you'd need to scratch some air scoops.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on January 11, 2026, 05:00:13 AMI bet Rick Lowe would want one too, he's a Capri NUT!  ;D

More like just a 'Nut', but yeah...  ;)  not for me, but thanks for the thought.

Fred, you may want to be careful using that term nowadays, what with Bond Villain Chainsaw Mans' AI and all... you don't know what you might be conjuring up...  :o  :-\

I've restored the blue decal 1/24 Zakspeed Ford Capri and I have an idea for a road version as I have used a few spare parts on a die-cast model which seems to work.
Ford has come up with a revised version of the electric Capri which looks more like the Mk.3 for 2026.
I know that the Capri was never fitted with four doors but I think that with the help of a scriber I can add the rear doors to the 1/24 built Ford Capri Mk.1 I bought on eBay.

Rick Lowe

A couple of half-doors, like the Mazda RX-8 would work.

The Wooksta!

That Mini has been rereleased a year too late.  The 24th 3d printed Riley Elf body is no longer available.  Pah!

Mini kit is an enjoyable build.  I've built one OOB and extensively modified another (they are buggers to lower).

Chaffee looks good.  But are those rubber band tracks?  I wouldn't have thought so on a new mould Tamiya kit but you never know and it doesn't specify link & length on the box top.

And with the Schwimmwagen I wonder how much of it is new.  Just the wheels?

I could be wrong, but they do look like they've been painted. Not being an armour builder, I'd assume that means they're not rubber.

Looks like there's a bit of sag in the top run, so I'm guessing they're probably link-&-length.

Tracks are link and length.

They've been painted Charlie mate ..there link and lenght for sure ..you can see a bad join under the rear road wheel leading to the drive sprocket ...the end connector isn't at the angle it should be.
