OK, I'm a bit lazy, & haven't read all of the backstory, but it's the build I'm here to see & it's magnificent!

Absolutely marvellous Thomas, I have been watching this evolve, and  as others have said, it is a real aircraft in every way.. Bravo that man.

Very good Dizz.

Makes me want to dig out the A Model Yak 25.  But then I remember who made it...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

That's come out really well Thomas

Not sure why, but whenever I see aircraft with outriggers I think in terms of early attempts at VTOL. Can almost see that with a couple of lift engines burried in that dumpy fuselage.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Yak is not that bad to build Fred, I did one a fair few years ago, it's on the shelf.

I also built one some years ago.  That's how I know what they are like...

Stunning, great work Dizzy.  The landing gear, cockpit and paint are especially noteworthy.

I have just logged onto flickr and seen the little video that Dizzy has of this aircraft intercepting the Bear. Wonderful stuff

Yes, late addition and experimental stuff. But glad you like it!
I had hoped for something more spectacular, but as a scene it's quite nice. Here's a link to the FlickR page, I cannot directly embed the video here:
