in the opposite way to things normally happening,  the wheels are a bought to go on
they are in 2 parts each, have the bottoms flattened and bulged for weight and are keyed on the face where they attach to the shafts so they go on that way easily ( i would say they will only go on one way, but, you know that is just challenging Murphy and the fates   )
there is evidence of thought going into the design of the parts,

a few more parts together on the landy,  and in a fit of efficiency, ive hauled the 1:35 Cent AVRE out of the pile and measured the demo gun, i have some brass tube that is close enough for the main barrel, and a larger size that will slide over for the fume extractor, so have added those to the box for the Chieftain that i was going to convert into the planned but unbuilt AVRE version    as well as having a quick tidy up of the Hasa weapons sets, putting a part set D into an other part used set D, giving a bit more space round my desk

i had a  :o  moment today as my check on kingkit turned up a 1:48 Hustler on there, alas too much for my budget at the moment, so i will have to hope that it remains unsold for a wile...   if it does go, ho hum, ive been sort of after one for years, and will get it eventually, if i am meant too  :-\

ive been able to get more landy done.  steering wheel on and im painting the roof support / divider between the driving cab and the rear, its not very fast, but anything faster than a total halt is a forward motion,  and its faster than the Blakes 7 Liberator build, which is my record for slowness ( took close on 10 years,  but it was a build that only progressed when i was utterly in the mood for modelling, and it was during times when i was at uni so had a lot of other things to do)

ive also been having a slow look through various company's M113  versions.  I think it will be a slow accumulation for this one, as mentioned above ive several in the stash, i will need to get a PIVAD and the command version, and then try to find the fitters version ( didnt even know that was was made in plastic)   Italari and Tamiya for the first 2 and cant find the 3rd again drat,  i think ive the Saladin turret FSV version, so the AFV club scorpion version is one to look for, ive the Lance carrier so thats one less.
other variants will be added slowly,  i may have to stick a piece of paper to the door by th PC and add and cross trough as i id them and acquire.
But this is a way off  and still in the planning / thinking stage.... especially as i will be looking to try to get as many cheap from under table sales / 2nd hand   ;D

got the sides and roof on now,  though i think i may have been a little overenthusiastic with the paint , or possibly not quite clamped the sides in enough as wile the roof its well length wise, its got a bit of a gap each side, still glue it on then fill, a smear of filler should do it, if i cant just use a slurp of thick poly cement

the front wings and grill are on,  as is the top of the engine,  i do wonder if the kit is a little too busy for the scale, as i am having to trim parts to get them to fit in the right area, then fill at other ends as theres a lot of slop,  if / when i do another i may well be leaving out the entire engine, and i may have to assemble things a lot quicker so there is some shift in the glue, and possibly even not undercoat before hand, which will make painting post assembly rather a problem.  ht e detail is wonderful, but trying to get things to go together smoothly is rather more than i need for a wargames model,  and possibly rather more than i would want for a display model  :-\

down to the last 15 or so parts on the landy, ill have a spare bonnet and front doors, and a set of the armoured glass pieces, for it, as i dont want them on it,  they can go in a spares bag for future use, ( doors and bonnet could always be used in an improvised barricade / rod block for a piece of cheap scenery.
not been too bad a build

in anticipation for an upcoming weeks holiday  I have put in an order with Ground Zero Games,  a couple of the  New Anglian confederation ships   a super dreadnought and a battle dreadnought,  heavy metal in both casting and game terms, but mainly for the look, ive been wanting to get them for a long wile but have mainly concentrated on my UNSC fleet, the bulk of the rest was a heavy  end Japanese fleet built round multiple battleship, and super dreadnought hulls,  as the design aesthetics  call to me,   i will have fun assembling them and then i have to get a decent  repeatable scheme to do them in,  my UN fleet is battleship grey   so i may want to do other colours for these, as " remember in space everyone can see you gleam"    ( with apology's to Alien).  Possibly  light grey white    :-\

the Landy is down to attaching the doors and antenna, so will soon be on the camo step as well.   happy with this

aside from the clear cover on the spotlight/ camera mount  the landtys together,  i will be touching up the paint on the last few parts glued on tomorrow, and then it will be time to bet the black and white stripes on it  again possibly tomorrow, so very close to the end,  the number plate decals will be needed and then varnish, so hopefully finished this week.
been a fun build. ;D
