Ok, since the aircraft lost the competition in 1991 against the F-22.
i thought up a good backstory about what if it did went into production.

In 1993, Boeing failed to continue development of the F/A-18E super hornet for the US. Navy as they wanted a stealth fighter of there own but refused to use Lockheeds navalised version of the F-22. as a result, a number of aircraft constructors offered the navy various designs, but northrop grumman recieved the contract in June 1994 for a navalised version of the rejected air force design YF-23.

In august 1997, the verry first production F-23A took to the skies from Northrop-Grummans plant in Louisiana, following deliveries to the US Navy in 1999.
various other countries shown intrest in this verry capable and affordable stealth fighter and in 2000, the first export customers signed up for this aircraft.
Canada (65), New-Zeeland (15), Israel (55), Netherlands (26), Norway (48) and the UK (80) placed orders for various versions of the aircraft including 2-seat trainers.

you must know that these are my first attemps at creating good profiles  :)

wasnt the F23 more expensive than the F22?

Spey_Phantom

Quotewasnt the F23 more expensive than the F22?
well, since the F-23 by then was already build and developed, it was cheaper in price then it was when it competed for the USAF's ATF requirement  ^_^

I´ve read from many sources than the F23 performed better than the Raptor, is that true? Who knows more?

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Nils, I'm touched that you remembered us here in the swamplands! Althou I'm not sure in the plant in Lake Charles could be used for that (currently it's used for the Jstar conversion/upgrade and associated stuff w/ ECM and ELINT)

I've done a AF F-23A, I'll have to dig it up again (dig the 2seater btw)
