Some old 'whiffy' wrecks

Clearing out the loft this afternoon I found an old carboard box filled with broken discarded models. Some of these were WIFs and I fondly remembered them in their prime when they had all protuberances present and correct :D

Here's a glimpse of their remains (and don't tell the wife but I might keep them for rebuilds!)

Northrop-BAE Avenger GR.9, 617 Sqn RAF.

Just a standard YF-23 with its fins cut down and repositioned.

BAe Osprey F/A.1, 824 Sqn FAA.

Harrier GR5 fuselage and outriggers grafted to EAP wing,  1/144 Tu-22M tailplane for a fin + nosecone and wing trailing edge sections in the air intakes, MiG 29 nosecone and windscreen and Tornado fuel tanks. This also had an armament of 2 wingtip sidewinders and 2 underbelly AMRAAM's in its better days.

And finally;

Hawker Fury Monoplane - No4 in the Hendon New Types Park, 1934.

This is a Fury fuselage mated to a Demon rear fuselage and tail and (Revell) Hurricane wings. I really loved this model and used to display it alongside my Bulldog, Fury and Gladiator. Its a real shame to see it looking like this, I think a restoration is deffo in order here.

Damm, there are some VERY nice ideas in there.

Congratulations! (as far as I am concerned, my favourite is the Harrier/EAP mix   :D )

I too like the Harrier/EAP cross.  Looks better than first thought!

Captain Canada

yowzers...that Herrier cross is absolutley wicked ! Looks sooo good in that second pic. Now there's a bird worthy of a rebuild, or even a new build !

Thanks guys, when I pulled them out of the box I thought you'd be intersted in seeing them, even in their current state. Ihave been toying with the idea of a new build Harrier/Osprey where this time I use a cut down MiG 1.44 wing as I can't see me getting another EAP and being thinner it might avoid the thick leading edge root I ended up with first time. When this baby was new with full AV-8B style undercarriage (you can't see on those pics how well the outrigger fairings fit the EAP wing, slap bang where the sweep crank is on the leading edge too   )
and full weapons load it looked absolutely gorgeous. Why don't I look after my models for more than 10 years?

I have to agree, that Osprey is tunning. I wanna see a new one!
And that Monoplane Fighter... please o please ressurrect it!

Sweet!  I like that YF-23 mod, but that EFA/Harrier bash is brilliant!!!

Waynos those are some fine old builds! I'm particularly fond of your Hawker monoplane. It reminds me a little of that old spatted French mid 1930's Dewotine and looks completely plausible! I'm glad you shared those found treasures with us.
