Since I'm in that fidgetty stage where one model is just finished and I dont know what to start next, I've been playing around with old models and decided that the modified F-8 I built for the 1 week group build might look cool with a Sidewinder leaving the rail.

Now all it needs is a pilot...
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

It looks like it has an underbite with the cockpit being so far forward.  Still an interesting departure from the conventional F-8/A-7.  Have you considered maybe doing one with the wings further back and placing the horizontal stabilizers just behind the cockpit?
