The Wooksta!

Well, guess what this is?  I'm zipping through these at a rate of knots.

This was my third attempt at the desert scheme (the first two being on a PR TSR2, the first being stripped and redone but I'm still not happy with it.  Actually, no, I hate it.).  However, Humbrol paint now being the utter poo-poo (with an english accent) that it is, it took about four coats before the mid stone looked like it had a reasonable cover and then the dark earth disruptive pattern looked poo-poo (with an english accent).  Banished to a dark corner to gather dust it were.

And then last week I discovered the power of Xtracylics.  Out it came and so did the modelstrip.  12 hours later, after a wash and a brush with a toohbrush, the old paint was gone.  Left it to dry for a few days and then sprayed on the mid stone on Saturday.  Still not that happy - it took about two coats to looks right.  Painted on the disruptive camo whilst watching Waking the Dead.  Leave to set for a day and then did some touchups yesterday whilst Ronnie O'Sullivan was beating the crap out of the nerd Anthony Hamilton on the snooker, this being the u/c bays, cockpit and exhausts.  Decals should go on later today and will be 8 Sqn with the late 70s tactical roundels for a MEAF machine.

It looks good on the model Wooksta. After looking at that paint scheme for the last seven years on the Jaguars I work on here I am quite familiar with it...... ;)

Look forward to seeing the end result.

I think that's the best paint scheme I've seen on a TSR2!

ohhhhh, now that's a looker, lee....

have really liked everything that you have displayed since returning to the asylum, but this one is looking like it might be my fave - love it.

Yeah I like that one, personally think the TSR2 is butt ugly and don't know enough about it or RAF squadrons to really be qualified to comment usually.
Lee you make great models and alot of them and that one is really eye catching. Good job.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

ooooo, that's an attractive scheme on an already attractive aircraft!
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Captain Canada

Agree with everything he says
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
