Hello every body!!

Even if I have no pictures for the moment, I want to talk about my new project...

I have a lot of old model to transform into What If, a Heller 1/72 F-117 was one of them...

To discribe the bird, it has the classical F-117 fuselage, but the wings are totally rebuild. She will have canards and maybe F/A-18 landing gears... I still don't know if it will be for EA-6B or EF-111 replacement... I think the USAF version is more possible, cause the EA-6B is still a good plane. But I have to admit that a naval version could be funnier ;)

Whatever, it will have both internal and external weapons (there is no weapons bay on the Heller F-117, so I want to add external payload ;)

So, a new wing, large canards, external stealth weapons and tails replaced: maybe in this configuration  \_/ , or maybe in /_\ this one, don't know for the moment...

Fisrt shot this evening or tomorrow ;)

Oh!! I forgot!! I need you for the scheme choice ;)

how about a splinter camo like on my F-19?
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

PolluxDeltaSeven

I love both the camo you propose to me, Keith and Simon...
But I think I'm not good enough to do such a job...

But after all, why not trying??
Maybe some two greys or grey and sand splinter camo??

It will depend of the version I'll build... USAF or US Navy??

In favour of the USAF version, such an aircraft could be very usefull after the end of EF-111 Raven. A Nighthawk with both external and internal weapons (maybe modified HARM with little wings) could have a payload 50% bigger than F-22 or F-35...
But I think that a dedicat version of the F-117 for USAF doesn't need modified wing, better wing span and canards...

In favour of a US Navy version (or even USMC), such an aircraft could be... cool!!!
Maybe, like the F-117N proposed by Lokheed in 1996, my EF-117(N) could be a good plane in escort and SEAD missions for Super Hornet.
Why not a EA-6B replacement??
The good point is that a navalised F-117 really need a new wing and canards maybe...

But for good flying abilities in take off and landing on carrier operations, I think I have to choose the  _\_/_ tail version...

I'd go \_/, and do the Navy type. As for markings, it'd be RCN all the way, baby ! And I can even supple the roundels and wording etc............the project sounds great, btw. The regular stealth is just sooooo boring.

And secret squirrel...........you been holding out ? Where'd that thing come from ? I like it !

Hmmm....but I'll have to add something to my RCAF inventory to shoot those down !

Didn't JAG do an episode on that?  They might have beat you to the punch

Either way it ought to look interesting, can't wait to see it.

Let's go for the first pictures!!

On this one, you could see the new wings' form. They are more adapted to naval operations: take off and landing from a carrier, better  maneuverability for CAS missions etc etc...

On this one, you can see the canards... They aren't fixed for the moment, but the form is definitive...
Ok, their is a lot of puty and sand job to do!!

The tails will probably be in  _\_/_  config and place on the wings' roots...
This configuration is better for naval operations... When the plane land on a carrier, a typical V tail could be hided by the fuselage. But with this configuration, they will be no problem ;)

I think this plane could be my entry for the Tophe Twin-Tail group build ;)

Loving it WAAAAAAAY more than the conventional F-117.

Good show!

Thanks JHM ;)

I had to admit that I'm positively surprise myself!! The F-117 looks more "agressiv" with canards, I think. It's not just a flying domestic iron !!

For the moment, I try to find a good position for the tails, and it's harder than I first thought... with the _\_/_ tail I wanted, the EF-117 looks like a... rabbit!!

Looking the part mon ami.

Vire les canards et pose des élévateurs, mais bon, avec les ailes tant reculées, tu es pris avec les canards!
