Prior to building the wonderful Seafire, Hawker kitted out a Tempest V for coastal patrol, to interest the naval branch:
 (this is a revell 72nd)

Gary

Yeah, Hawker had a lot to live up to after the Sea Typhoon

did some of the airbrushing, charcoal, and pencil work...the canopy is a piece of cr*p, so ordered a replacement from squadron this morning...bummer.

The Rat

Ain't even finished and already I'm getting some of those 'twitches'.

Still unsure of what numbers to use, but put on the rondels, etc...now, sitting back to wait for the new canopy from squadron :

Captain Canada

Beauty, Greg !

It's hard to keep a project 'under wraps', eh ? Especially one as cool as that ! Navy types, especially in that paint scheme, are way cool. Looking forward to the finished product, and if you need some ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY titles for the tail, let me know !

Have a slew of whatifs to build, and would love to do some in canuck colours...how are you set for 72nd scale????  :)

Thanks guys...yeah, this is a fun little bird, though the review isn't going to be too favorable to Revell.

note:  Thanks to Gary, for pointing out a very obvious flaw in my decalization...it has been remedied !!!  Once again, Whiffmodelers has saved me from the JMN's !!! (to a point, they are going to want to crucify me when they see this)

NARSES2

I've got that kit Greg and every now and again I open the box, close it and walk away quietly. Terrific job you've done there.

I was pondering on a Sea Tempest (Cyclone) after my current Typhoon spate is finished (inc. a Seaphoon), but was thinking of a Tempest II conversion in SEAC scheme

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

cthulhu77

Well, the review will definitely state that the Academy kit is much, much (by a long margin too) better.  The Revell kit is suitable for bashing and whiffing, I look forward to seeing yours !!!  The wing joints are strong enough for pontoons...hmmm.
Thanks for the comments, all...there is something really alluring about the sea camouflage/colour scheme to me .

Beautifull Sea Tempest Greg.
the Tempest has always been one of my favorite aircrafts and yours looks splendid in those colors.
