Hi guys, just finished a project,  WoooHooo!  First one in over 20 years :)
I want to thank you guys for all the inspiration, this is truly a great place to hang out!

Here is a teaser.

All I can say is dang this thing has a ton of decals, it took as long to put on the decals on as it did to assemble and paint it!  I can see I'm going to need more practice, there are tons of things I noticed after I got the paint on it...hard to see the flaws on a black kit.

Congratulations, beautiful picture of a weird aircraft  ... I thought this MiG had never existed, but seeing this photographic proof, I change my mind, immediately :)

Did you prime it before you painted it?  Shows up flaws, and acts as a base coat for your paint.

Nice model btw  :)

I to had an interegnum of about 20 years, but my first efforts didn't look as good as that  - well done, terrific stuff

That looks awsome Jeff. I know what you mean about the decals and stuff. It took me longer to decal my ferret than it did to build the bloody thing. My version was a Siberian based one.

That is a sweet job, man.  I love this kit.  I've done two of these now, and I think the best idea for all those decals is to pitch 'em and just use the basics for marking the bird.  On the last one I did, the only decals I used were the numbers and the stars, and it turned out okay.  The real bear on these kits is the big seam behind the intake cover piece, and the seams where the tail fins meet the body.  That hint given before, of priming your model before painting is a good trick to prevent nasty surprises.

I really like your desert scheme, though.

Trust me.... If EVER Rad was to choose a disguise, he would choose one Waaaaaaayyyyy better than this !

I always thought that jet would look better if you cut away 1/3 of the fins.

Thanks to all for the kind words :)

I realized I should have primed it after I becan painting it and to tell you the truth I kind of wanted to get it done before it ended up like countless other projects in various stages of completion limbo.

I was worried that if I primed it it would fill in a lot of the detail with the extra layer of paint and I don't think I'm up to scribing in details yet.

Overall I'm happy with it but I look forward to builing more and hopefully improving. I love some of the kit combining that is done here (Eddie comes to mind) and maybe one day I will be able to pull off something like that but I'd better take it one step at a time.

I also really enjoy seeing how other folks treat the same kit, so if anyone else has a picture of their Ferret that they have finished by all means post it...thanks to noxiox for sharing his.
