The Wooksta!

It goes on into the small hours - I rarely go to bed early on a sunday as I want a decent night's sleep before work - so the gluing, filling and sanding continues.

First - more Lightnings.  This is going to be a Libyan one in sand and brown with the more modern plain green markings.  Again, an early Hasegawa Lightning, but apart from a floor and an Aeroclub seat, I'm doing nowt else to detail it.

Now that single-engined Huntsman is looking good, Wooksta.  I'll be most interested in seeing further updates on its progress.

No problem, Lee, I quite understand juggling several build programs at once.  It is, though, inspiration to get on with my four-seat Hunter and to do a single-engined Huntsman to go with it in the scheme I mentioned on another thread.  Of course, the same scheme is also going to require a trainer TSR.2 as well as a fully operational one.

Perhaps a variation on the green and white scheme the sole Hunter T.12 prototype flew in?  That'd look attractuve on a Huntsman.

... erm ...re a 'pasenger Lightning..there was a proposal for something similar...a 4 seat one !?..unfortunately iv no drawings of it in the files, just a mention, im guessing itd be similar to a standard 'T.bird' in section just extended forward by a few feet to add in the length of the extra seating and canopies ?

...looking good Lee, its great to see your back into creative mode, love the Lightnings (looking fwd to seeing the 'Genie bird') and the Avon P.1128..hmmm..how bout a Boscombe/Bedford/W.Freugh hack similar to their exec Dove scheme ...very sweet

... hmmm..a Lightning in RAF. Sand/Stone/black to go with those Hunters, Strikemasters and Vulcans...hmmm ?

happy modelling, cheers, joe

Jeffry, I believe the French use their Falcons in a kind of "adversary" role with their navy, simulating Electronic Warfare, missile attacks and the like.  The exocets you saw were probably training rounds I would guess.

IIRC Radish did a slew of those Hasegawa biz-jets a while back, I'm sure he has plenty of ideas for you :)

Looking good Lee, keep churning em out  :tornado:

As do We Nev, Flight Refuelling replaced the old FRADU Canbarras with the ex-CAF Falcons and use them in the Ship Defence calibration trials. I think ours have a pair of pods that can be programmed to represnt various aircraft and missile radar emissions.

The french may well use on theirs on Exocet testing and development, but as nev says they are not used in the offensive role.

Mach2 actually do a kit of the Falcon BTW Mach2 - Falcon

If one is looking for a "Different" Falcon, Allied SIgnal had one of the more interesting test birds.  In order to flight test the F125 engine for the Chung-Kuo, it was mounted, complete with afterburner, in place of one of the TFE731 engines on the side of a Falcon 10.

Oh, if someone decides to do that one, the removed TFE731 engine nacelles are perfect for modelling the Skyfox upgrade to the T-33.
