Well I may have mentioned it once or twice so when I finally finished it I just had to post a couple of pics.

Here is my Night Maus.

I will be sending in an article with  more pics in the near future.

Next is my e-100.

I dirtied this model up quite a bit because with a weight of around 150t this tank would have made quite a mess of it's self

The camo is my own creation it's designed to sumilate a forest lite at night by moonlight.

At first I wasn't sure if it worked but after seeing the pictures it worked better then I expected.

Holy poo-poo (with an english accent), Sisko.....you never told us you were that good ! Brilliant ! Love that lst pic, with the turret rotated, awesome !

And you're right, your camo idea worked out great. It definately looks like a moonlit forest. You should try taking a few pics in a darkened environment. Love the red lights as well, nice touch.

Now, can you give us some idea of how you got that dirt to look exactly like dirt ?

Yep, absolutely LOVE that camo: subtle yet very, very eye-catching.
A variant of that scheme would also look good on a certain Puma helicopter I've seen in my basement in 1:32 scale...

Thanks guys This is my third armour kit and I am really discovering the beauty of dirt. With the wide tracks and weight of this beast it would have not stayed clean for long.

:tank:

The mud is basically water based gyprock(drywall) putty with various shades of brown paint mixed in. I used tamiya paint but any acrylic paint should work. Water and paint is added until ithe putty has the consistency of, well mud. It is then slapped on with an old paint brush. I then sprayed light brown over the top for a dusty dried mud effect.

The camo job was the result of watching my father-in law paint trees. He is an amature landscape aritist. Given the german preference for complex and time consuming camo jobs it is not unreasonable to think that they would invested some time to paint this scheme and getting looking just right.

I am facinated with these sorts of armour projects I just wish some manufacturer would kit the allied super heavy tanks as they are just as cool.

:tank:

I will detail more about the build in an article that I have started and will post soon.

Stay tuned

Cheers Sisko

What scale is it Sisko ? Good work by the way.

Talking of Allied projects there was a 1/72 allied super-heavy on the R & D Stand at Perth - either a T28 ? or Tortoise, not sure which

Chris

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Trumpeter are doing the M-26 Pershing later this year in 1/72 and i suppose the Airfix Centurion could be backdated to its 1945 configuration. Alot of the British Super heavys actually were designed and built post war to counter the new Soviet Heavy tanks following on from the german trend. However by the 60's ammunition developments and advanced armour technology has led to the medium heavys becoming the standard tank as the super heavys were just too slow and heavy for effective use - more a portable gun emplacement than a Tank.

Love the camo, you'll have to pass on the technique and colours used as i have a Panther III with the night vision equipment to build at some stage.

Cheers
