The Grumman Wolfhound is the AEW version of the C-2A Greyhound used by the US Navy to provide COD services.
The British had tried to acquire the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye on numerous occasions even suggesting that it should be fitted with four engines or a wet wing and adding drop fuel tanks/hose & drouge refueling pods with a refueling probe but removing the carrier kit with different engines that ran on the same fuel as the C-130Ks of the RAF.
The Air Ministry decided to buy twenty Grumman C-2A Greyhounds having four turboprop engines modified to take British fuel, they would retain the carrier-deck capabilities and be fitted with an in-flight refueling probe designated the Grumman Wolfhound. Five would become in-flight refueling tankers, two aircrew trainers, one development aircraft and the others AEW platforms.
The Wolfhound AEW.1s had the radar sets that were in the Fairey Gannet AEW.3, the AN/APS-20S these were fitted to a moveable arm attached to the rear loading ramp with an inflatable radome. The crew: pilot, copilot, flight engineer ( also a pilot) , five radar operators, communications officer and senior radar officer.
By the 1990s the Air Ministry had placed an order with Ericsson for the Erieye, a linear bar antenna whilst a maintenance overhaul was carried out.
By 2005 the Wolfhound AEW Erieye.1 had entered service, monies were made available for the engines to be upgraded to the Allison/Rolls-Royce T56-A-427As along with a glass cockpit. With these updates the designation had been changed to the Wolfhound AEW Erieye.2. The twelve aircraft increased to fifteen.
The Wolfhound was also used as a freighter by the RAF and other military units they are often used by commercial customers as a short to medium cargo aircraft.

The build.
I'm using the Falcon Triple Conversion set, a 1/72 Heller Grumman E-2C Hawkeye and the resin Erieye radar from the RVHP Metroliner AEW testbed set.

The two outer engines haven't been glued in place yet and I will replace the tail fins with the one from the Heller kit.
