After sawing the front-end of two Academy Spitfires for my Douglas Dartmoor I had two engine-less Spitfires and also two Radial engines coming from the AC-47. So what to so?

Well, what about this:

Interesting for sure, but not exactly the prettiest Spitfire I've ever seen.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Unexpected, but interesting.  It looks like a 20 knot built-in headwind compared with the in-line Merlin.

Interesting, in a good way.

I would have shortened the intake fairing a bit, though. Works on the wing engines of a C-47, not so sure about it on a single-engine fighter (even early C-47s didn't have it).

You're right. Intake shortened.

That intake should have been underneath where the normal Spitfire carburetor intake was, and as others have said, shortened a bit too.

I like it.  I can see it with Red stars on it.

Yes, I am hesitating between a USSR version or a UK prototype.
I also think it has something Russian.

Yeah, it has an air of the LaGG-5 about it. Of course if you really wanted to LaGG it up, you'd put the air intake fairing on top of the engine...

The Spit canopy will make it look less Russian.
