Could do with a little more rust on the dings in the mud-guards*, though.

That was an extraordinarily good point, that led to a interwebnet search that sort of indicated that the exterior bits, like mud guards/Fenders appear to be fibreglass or equivalent material, to save weight. Which makes all sorts of sense for a modern vehicle.
Now I have to revisit them as well, because.. Fibreglass, does not bend !

If they're not metal, I'm guessing that the straight sticky-out ones at the back (that's a technical term, you understand) are probably a synthetic rubber compound of some sort, with the big roundy ones at the front (another technical term) being fibre-glass reinforced resin/plastic.

I would guess the entire hood is fiberglass. Or maybe Kevlar. The HUMMV hoods are Kevlar. The hoods on most trucks today are some sort of fiberglass. But you probably looked that up already.
Overall this is looking fantastic!

Thanks.. and kevlar/synthetic material they are, almost the entire front end apparently, except the bumper bar. But that boat sailed so the dings in the bonnet/hood stay. Too many builds of WW2 or similar where vehicle were built using traditional materials compared to building more modern vehicles.
Those who know, will know.
Oh well, note to self for next time.

If you hadn't said, I wouldn't have known - or cared.
And knowing, still doesn't detract for me - fantastic build.     

And older rubber can warp like that over time, anyway.

Those rubber flaps over the rear wheels look just right. I've seen them black and beat up or painted just like you have them. Works either way.

Calling this done. For the moment. If it goes to any shows,  there are a couple of things that might be added/deleted/tweaked.

The saw array is driven by a roof mounted electric generator.






Got some time away from the bench and then the whole workshop revamp.. so something else shinier to do

from when i worked  in the rolling oil business ( i was a junior QC chemist, add appropriate amount of salt here) 
Veg oil lasts a long time, and if it starts to get a bit off most of the floaty bits are removable with a gentle warm and filter,  add appropriate stuff and you get a Bio Diesel that is consistent enough to run on less finicky engines, and good enough that you have to pay tax and duty on it.  And is doable by the average slightly skilled bloke in a shed.

A friend used to do just that, with his diesel Toyota ute. 
At one stage you could get used oil from the takeaway shops here, but I don't think it's a Thing, anymore.
Though, with the Stupid War's effects, it could take off again...

it used to be one of the cases in the UK,  at one time one of the big fast food chains had on the sides of the big lorry's that, that was what they were fueled with.  The second user prices have gone up ( as opposed to being paid to take it away as waste

When I worked at Woodford, all the cooking oil from the staff restaurant was collected in big container/pallets for a bio-diesel company to pick up.
