Yeah, but it does not conceal or blur the outlines, what cammo is rather supposed to achieve. Dazzle is primarily intended to confuse the onlooker.

Yes!  :thumbsup:  Confusion and concealment against the background do not preclude each other, exemplified e.g. through the USAF/USN's Hether/Ferris schemes; I also built a VF-1 in such a guise, a USN F-4S was the benchmark; color are authentic, but their contrast and the resulting potential confusion effect is rather weak:

The RN worked out that no camouflage works in all sea conditions, weathers or time of day, so breaking up the outline in such a way that made it difficult to assess the size, direction, speed & range of the ship was the better way to go.

With warships they still tended to keep it to, generally, "sea" type colours but merchantmen got some pretty outlandish schemes.
