UH-1 Huey River Taxi - The Diorama !

Hi all,

Something I put together on BTS.

Remember This?



At the time I said it was screaming out for a diorama and now I have finally got round to cobbling something together.

The scene was originally going to be the river taxi parked up on a hardstanding with a Vietnamese  ground crew preparing it for the next journey. The female pilots waiting to depart and Vietnamese locals  with a smattering of European backpackers about to board. That was  the plan but it changed !

I couldn't find many of either Vietnamese or backpackers, and those I did find would have blown my modeling budget for the next two years      . Didn't help 1/48 is not my natural scale so everything had to be bought new  so it became an all European cast.

I will say up front my figurework is not that brilliant,  its not my forte at the moment, but I can improve

I enjoyed doing a diorama for a change but it took a lot of time and effort (and cash !) so the next one will be a lot simpler I think.

Love the dio, 'Mog! Worth the effort!     

None of those very pristine tourists are going to finish the trip looking anywhere near as clean, though!

Haha ! This is awesome ! Love the diorama. Alot of interesting characters ( cool cats lol ) I can imagine sitting by the riverside, minding your own buisness....then you here this noise. As it grows louder.....this thing comes into view ?
