An entirely understandable 'non-step'. I'm with you 100% on that matter.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I picked it up today with every intention of starting to put on the masking set.
But I noticed the windscreen needed some PVA run along it's lower edges to improve the fit so no masking got done.

Masking today.  I have, using a masking set, masked every item of glazing that is attached to the aircraft.
Just the turret glazing left to do (they are not attached yet).

Masking.

Having masked all the clear parts with a masking set I still need to mask the holes where the turret glazing goes (it needs to not be glued yet so I can add the guns).
I would usually use Blu Tac for this but having bought some of this...

This was not a good idea as unlike Blu Tac this stuff flows.

It's currently sitting on my bench upside down.  I am hoping that the masking putty will flow back out again.  If not, its going to be a bugger to get out.

It's more like something you'd give to kids to play with.  Like Silly Putty or Slime.
If it doesn't flow off i'll have to see what its soluble in.  I'd hate for it to take the paint off.  There's a painted figure in that front turret hole.  You can just see his hands.  It's like he's being digested by an alien entity...

Mah.  It's all part of the fun of the Hobby.  If I can't get it out without losing the gun positions then so be it.  Kit's second law will be applied.
I rarely test stuff.  I like to dive in.   :wacko:

This type of putty is made from silicone. They come in different hardness levels and are often used for hand exercises. They will harden slightly if cold, making them easier to remove (gently) and you can use it to dab at any recalcitrant bits that won't come off.

I stick with silly putty. It will glow but much slower than what you have and some others.
