Fitting the magnets was a great idea in theory, but I managed to swap the polarity around sometime between dry fitting and cementing them in place and the meteor firmly rejects its own wing now! Next step is getting them back out!
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

This is where painting small dots on the magnets pays off (usually on the side not facing the other).

How do you fasten the magnets to the model please?

I've got to do something similar to an RC model boat I'm re-furbishing for 'next month, all its furniture' is held only by gravity!  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The way I've done it is by drilling a hole the right diameter for the magnet to drop into, super-gluing in place and PSRing over the top, but I will add the caveat that this is my first time magnetising a model so there will definitely be better ways!

OK, thanks, sounds like a plan. I've got a whole stack if teeny weeny magnets already, they're attached to various screwdrivers, spanners, motors etc. whether I want them to be  or not.  ;D

Well it keeps them in one place at least, and stops them rattling around......  ;D

The painting of the Saro has commenced- there might be another coat for the lower surfaces and then we're on to the camouflage!

Painting of the Saro continues- for some fool reason I thought it'd be a good idea to get the Vallejo Model air set for FAA aircraft, thinking it'd be a bonus that I didn't have to thin them. I'd say, conservatively, that it takes about eight hundred layers per colour!

I really can't wait to see either of these builds finished!
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

Well gee, I'm flattered! Hopefully I'll actually get them done in time!

I feel for you.
